How long does rep last?

Imo it depends on how you treat it, the same with most things I suppose. If you take a good care of it, it could last for few years, some could even last longer than the gen, LOL. But for some movements such as the A7750 sometimes could be tricky and troublesome, after a while could use a service.

Fortunately, so far, my reps barely gave me issues, especially those with the A2836 and the A2824 since they are true workhorse and reliable movements in my eyes.

I guess is more a problem of bad QC assembling at factories (many of them never saw a single oil drop), than the type of movement itself.
However, needless to say an A7750 is more delicated than an asian 6497 clone.
Summarizing, if your unit has sime quality issues, I would say, SOON will give you problems, 2-3days?, may be 2-3 months?, after that time lapse, if everything went ok, you'll probably have your rep in good health for a long time.

For those who have reps running for 1 years or more, have they been service immediately once you received it from TD or they just happened to work perfectly?
I have an incoming and I am thinking of taking it apart to clean and oil it. Or should I just wait till it stop working?

If I were to be on that position, I would contact my TD soon as the watch is received Dead on Arrival (DOA) firstly to see any possible outcome. If nothing works or is too troublesome to send the watch back to the TD, then I'd try repairing it locally
