How long after payment to a TD do you wait before you freak out?

Part of the rep game is the waiting game. I once waited nearly 6 months for QC pictures.
The waiting process can be like an adrenaline rush until the watch arrives at your doorstop. You might even forget about it after a few weeks or so.

My friggin knees start shaking the moment I wire funds 😨

If you stick with TDs, you absolutely never have to worry. I've never not even once had an issue when ordering from a TD. Even for backorder items, I've waited maybe 3 weeks at the most.

I generally try and forget that I even placed the order. It helps.

How hard is it to pay, walk away from your computer and just wait to receive your watch ? It's so stress free and rewarding.

Can't really answer OP's question, since I have not freaked out yet after payment for a watch.

Longest wait was approx. 1 year. Bought m2m within EU. Box went missing, totally off the radar. Then appeared unexpectedly at my doorstep.

If you don't have QC in two months, feel free to update this thread. But still don't worry. Unless you've used Lucy in which case wait 2 years before updating.
I know you're joking, but I think it's fair to say, with 7 double orders from @truetime168 , that that's a decent sample size:

From payment to receipt of package:
Shortest ~1 month
Longest ~6months

Agree with all others though, 8 days is nothing. If you order from a TD, you're gonna get your watch 💪

Stressing out achieves zero. Pay & wait, because it also depends on the watch availability from the factory, which is entirely out of the TD's control.

From this great thread, (credit @Feefo) these words stand out for me:

""The general rule of thumb is, the TD will respond when, and if, they have something to tell you. They won’t send you a PM per week saying “no news”. But they will answer promptly if they have news. If you read the stickies you should have learned that patience is the key for a good purchasing experience""

It's best if you forget about it completely, then your surprise registers as authentic when you open up your "$100" watch in front of your Significant Other.
This hobby is too expensive
Each time I get a rep in, I have to buy a gen designer bag/shoes/jewellery to the wife because she does not believe it’s a rep

So I pray it takes months actually for it to arrive

I’ll ask first before I do … is it ok for me to post my TD here? So far it has been great (I’ll post on the TD review board as well)

Like others have said it may take only a few days to several months after placing the order to get QC photos. And then there's the delivery time to get the actual watch. We all started as beginners and naturally worry after a week but after you've been in this hobby for a while, you learn that it's a waiting game and we're all at the mercy of the factories, not the dealers.

I fire and forget when it comes to ordering from TDs. Even when I get the tracking number I only check once or twice after some time (no use to do it in the first 10-15 days because of triangulation). I tend to not stress about things that are out of my control... If shit happens, I'll deal with it when it happens.
