How I built my Franken Submariner 16610 JF

Thanks!
My JF Explorer 1 failed at that same point, so I read up on it a little, and replaced both sides. Then I bought a JF16610 bracelet, polished the sides, and fitted it to my BPSD. That failed a couple months later, it's the broken bracelet pictured above. So wasn't risking it on this watch!

I would feel gutted if my bracelet fell apart and my watch it the turf, I think I would throw up lol

Luckily the first time was while sat on the sofa, and the next was in bed. God knows what I was doing in my sleep to break the bracelet, but at least the watch had a soft landing...

mega12 any recommendations for a rep rubberb , the clasp version?

Hi Maron, tried several Rubber B and compared with gens I can only say forget it.
Rep Rubber B is cheap gum while gen one is elastic vulcanized rubber. It’s like day and night. However, I never tried latest Oyster Flex version of Noob Daytona etc. maybe it’s different. However, if you want to go rep, I would recommend a version that is not made for glide lock. Because you can cut length according to your wrist size. Otherwise it might be too short or too long and it’s limited in adjustments then

Amazing, you go into such detail. I'm not really a fan of the blue watches but after your post, i think i have a new favourite color :)

Thank you so much for this post! I'm very new to the forums, and after seeing all these incredible build threads, I'm very tempted to try one of my own. Threads like this make the idea of modding slightly less intimidating, and I'm very appreciative of it.

For those trying to build a Kermit and can’t find a gen insert. WSO is quite good overall. Only pearl is off. Maybe I will just replace the pearl.

Not good. Purchased it and it’s completely off. Pearl not like in pictures. It doesn’t fit into gen bezel w/o sanding and it got directly bent. Seller was fair and refunded something.

Didn’t try Clark one. Could be nice as well

Anyway, apart from TCs LV insert all other available seems to have flaws or issues with the pearl.

Hey guys, recently acquired a gen LV insert which has no crack (like my current one), but some scratches. However, I’m pretty happy about it and prefer scratches instead of cracks :)
Will install shortly.

Best post I have ever read! People need to understand the detail that you have gone through before spending a lot going in the wrong direction like I was about to do before reading this.

Appreciate this post so much. Thank you!
