Some of us take a train, boat, car, bus what ever it is let us know? As for me I drive in to work I live about 10 minutes from my office never get any traffic. But today I had to go down town and the traffic was unbelievable  I just don’t know how some people do it I would have so much road rage [smilie=angryfire.gif] [smilie=angry5.gif]

Drive to train
Train to city
Walk to office

Actually very non stressful as I am always bang on time. Its only when something major happens, like somebody jumping in front of the train, that it becomes a pain.

Used to drive into Chicago everyday now our shop is 10 minutes from my house so the drive is a breeze. I too can understand how people get nutty when it takes them an hour and forty-five minutes to go 20 or so miles. Traffic sucks.

15 minutes by bus.

Then again, I live on a continent with working public transport.

Dito!

Sitting on the train though I am always looking at the watches around me, and I must say I am always dissapointed.

Do any of you do the same thing?

Drive, 35 miles to work each morning, but I arrive at 6:00 am so I avoid the lovely Atlanta traffic.

Always got my eyes open. Besides a couple of cheap TAGs, I have yet to see anything interesting.

I try, but most of these jerks won't hold their arm up in the air when I ask them too.

1 hour and a half car/train commute. The price of having pace and quiet. No complaints.

Best watch I have ever seen on my commute: a Full size SeaMaster Pro.

Walk 5.5 blocks to the subway = 10 min.
Wait on platform for train = 5 min.
Ride to downtown in a very crowded car = 20 min.
Walk 3 blocks to office = 7 min.

Total travel time = approx. 45 min.
Travel distance = 3.5 miles

I hate public transportation

i live in arizona,

land of eternal sunshine and air conditioning :) my shop door is 8 feet from my bed , but at my age i have to make the long comute to the sand box first lol when i lived in fullerton calif i commuted to work 15 miles each way, for 12 years , by bicycle . rain or shine :) i was always energised and relaxed by the ride to , and the ride from dissipated all stress :)
i have put 90,000 miles on my bikes . i didnt own a car for that period :) i stopped that when i retired at 65 :) i was only hit once in all that time , by a truck that ran a red , when i was 65 :) in the morning , because of traffic , my commute by car took 10 minutes longer than by bike . on the bike , i could ride the river trail , 12 miles of paved bike freeway, with no cars and no stop signs :) it was glorious :)

Love it!

For me, when I worked for a rather large photo/film manufacturer in Rochester NY, my commute was 80 miles each way - but traffic was nothing, good radio stations or books on tape - one hour each way. Now, in NYC I take a cab, but usually call for the minivan cab if I have lots of equipment. Or I bike - there is no better way to see or commute in NYC than by bike. I have yet to be beaten by any motorized vehicle from Columbus Circle to Canal Street.

Easy Pugs. Metra and the EL work just fine in ChiTown. I just won't use it. I just want to burn up as much fossil fuel as possible. You know how us Americans are, gluttonous slobs. Ozone shmozone.

I thought you lived in scotland (forgive me if I'm wrong).... but if it's true... blazing sunshine? If you live in the sunniest part of scotland, you are only going to open those curtains to sunshine at most 20% of the time.

Now, to answer the question. If I do go in to work, it's a straight shot - 3 minutes by car. I would walk, but I live on a wicked high/steep hill that would be a bitch to walk up at the end of the day.
