How can I repair the clasp?

Hi folks,

I received a Sub V5.1 from Toro but the security clasp is too loose. I can wiggle it and pull it about 1mm forward or backward.

Just look at the picture:

And how can I fix this problem on the bracelet, the bracelet is very hard:

Thanks

I don't know about fixing the clasp but you can take the bracelet off and do an oil bath. I've soaked in wd-40 for a day, clean off in soapy water, soak in dry lube bicycle chain oil, clean with soapy water, dry, and good to go.

It happened to me as well, as for the clasp. The clasp is basically linked by a springbar.

So your clasp issue could be due to the loose springbar, try to disassemble the clasp spring bar area then reassemble it, then see if it fixes the issue. If not, then try to find a new springbar and swap it with the loose one.

As for the bracelet, you can try the method as subaruski mentioned, and as for my method, after I'm done with the WD-40, clean with soapy water, I soak it in a baby oil for few hours. Then I wash it then dry it and that's about it. Goodluck buddy

Hi there! I think when you pull the security clasp forward, then you'll get the right gap ( you need to decrease the gap). I presume when you do that the spring-loaded locks will start to work properly. They will begin to get into their designated grooves.

I ordered 5 Sub V5. Received 2 of them now. One of it has this flaw. Hoping the other ones are good.

But why the TD sends those watches? It is an obvious flaw.

I tried it, it doesn't work. I will try to remove it from the bracelet in the next days. At the moment I don't know how, but I will look.

The bracelet is fixed to the watch by springbars. There are openings in the back where they attach to the lugs. You can use a springbar tool to pull the springbar back to release from the lug holes. Personally I use a thumb tac. You need to keep tension on the bracelet to keep the springbars from locking back into the lugholes. It takes a little practice and a lot of jiggling about to pull off the bracelet.

I know how to remove the bracelet. But I don't know how to remove the security clasp. There aren't springbars.

Dont know where is the problem?

It looks very good. Compare it with my clasp. It looks just scandalous.

Sorry misread you. I never had to remove the clasp. I just grabbed a Rolex to have a look. It seems one end is a screw an the other is a springbar with a gap to get a tool in. I presume it comes off the same as from the lugs. Maybe someone else can shine some more light on it.

That springbar doesn't belong to the clasp. It seems to be clipsed in from both sides. Really curious.

Lol you have me a the "get out the loupe" stage to try and figure it out. But it does look like the bar at the other side of the glidelock is adjustable. However the gap you have shown is so small I do not know if it makes that much difference. Maybe as suggested above it is a faulty springbar in there. Good luck with the fiddling with it.

I am just looking at part no. 11, there does seem to be spaces to adjust that springbar. I do not know if it would make a difference.

Now, I have a bigger problem. I lost the spring bar number 6. I tried spring bar of a cheap Submariner. It got in to the half and now I don't get it out. I guess I need a whole new bracelet. So angry and stupid

Maybe you can get away with a new clasp? If you have spare links, just remove the clasp at the links perhaps.

Yes, a new clasp would do it, too. But where to buy? Didn't find in the forum.
