Thanks for that. I had already seen that article. It still does not show the difference in the movements. It only shows a bad copy. There are still a lot of 6497 movements without the cock piece. I have concluded the following. If I am wrong please let me know.
1. On the true ETA the balance wheel should narrow the taper on the spokes. The Asian copies have a larger flared end on the spokes.
2. On the true ETA there are markings. No markings means no ETA.
3. On the true ETA there is a dimple for the gold stop on the hairspring. If it is flat, or raised it is a copy.
These are all signs to help differentiate the Asian ETA copy from the true ETA for the 6497.
