i hear about hot glued cg's for pams. Do you just take out the pin remove the lever squirt in some hot glue an reassemble it?
also is this an effective method is there a better one.
i have seen the new way where you enlarge the lever hole with a drill press and insert plastic wire casing to tighten the pin. seems like a lot of work and kinda risky
thanks

I personally think hotglue wears off. I like loctite. Not the epoxy, but it comes in a long white tube...kind of looks like a tooth paste tube.

But just punch it through the back add a little glue. Insert the pin and flatten it. Wait for it to dry. Use a tooth pick to pick out any excess glue.

This is how i do it, i wonder anyone else's using nail polish.
I use the translucent nail polish for fixing the crown guard lever, take out the pin remove the lever ,apply nail polish (thin layer) on pin & guard and when it dries (very quickly)reassemble it, it's effective and easy.
Not messy at all, just scrape off the excess nail polish with your nails and it's done.

It's worth a try.
Mine's been tight ever since i used the nail polish, about 4 month's now
but i can't say for sure how long it'll last because i am not wearing it everyday.

My father was an aluminum fabrication specialist...he knew how to build amazing things. He taught me to use crazy glue on eyeglass hinge screws, keychain hinges, earring pins, anywhere there was a pin that needed tightening. The trick was to work the hinge/pin back and forth for a minute nonstop (DO NOT LET THE GLUE HAVE A CHANCE TO SET) or two so it wouldn't seize up. That repair wouldn't loosen up for many months - a year or more depending on usage. I am going to try it on my PAM's cg pin if it loosens.

well after lots of practicing with several cg's. hot glue is the way to go.

i used some crazy glue and continued moving it while it set and it didnt really tighten it but it did make it where the pin will never come out. i trashed my link remover trying. dont try it.

i did the hot glue method and after trial and error the best method i found is not just apply hg in the lever b/c it cools too quickly. what i did is put hg in the lever and then put the lever and pin in the oven at like 175F. after a few minutes pull them out and put cg back together. its hot but easliy handled and the pin will slide right in.

update-

to get the pin that has krazy glue on it out, i put the cg in the oven at 400 then dipped it into ice water and repeated a couple of times and the pin loosened up, and i removed it.
