A place of darkness and light a.k.a. EU
He refunded me,
Appreciate the help of you guys. 🙏

Just a word of advice, not intended as criticism as I believe English is not your native language, but if you had in your first post indicated that this is about a refund and not a purchase, at least some (but admittedly not all) of the confusion could have been avoided.

The way you worded it, it sounded like you were being scammed, so the whole thread went into a completely wrong direction and was a bit of an unnecessary time waster, but yeah, whatever. No biggie... all good now, no harm done in the end is what counts and I'm glad you got made good by Hont.

I am new here as well. Am in the process of ordering from Ryan at Intime.

He said through email that I could order from his site as he has the watch I want in stock. The first thing it had me do was create an account, which also asked me for my birth date.

The website is https://www.intime06.co/ and the email I am communicating with is [email protected]

I got both the website and the email address directly from these forums. I thought I was doing everything right, but after reading this thread it seems maybe I am actually communicating with a scammer?

I have the watch in my cart but have not completed the order process or sent any funds.

Any of you more seasoned members willing to offer me some guidance here?

I'm not sure why you think you are communicating with a scammer, the website is correct as per the information in his section.

I mean, I'm certainly not accusing the him of being a scammer. But I was asked to create an account to order through his website and one of the required fields to create said account is date of birth. (this step is required to proceed to checkout)

In this very thread 2 people who are tagged as moderators expressed to the OP that asking for date of birth was a sign of a potential scammer. And then you yourself said not to provide DOB under any circumstances.

To be clear, Ryan did not ask my for my DOB. He said to order though his site, which requires a DOB. So, given the quotes below, I am just asking for some clarification or guidance. Is this off? Should I abort the order? Should I simply provide a fake DOB?

The mere mention by OP of being asked a DOB seemed to spook a bunch of senior members here, and since I was also asked to provide my DOB I am here asking for help. That's all.

Yes, if you both fell in love and want to get married.

Otherwise, it's extremely odd. I believe you may be in touch with a scammer who's also trying to steal your identity... Along with your money.

What are the contact details you used?

E-Mail? Web site URL? Phone numbers?

Where did acquire them? Here on RWI? Or via Google?

You might be dealing with a scammer posing as Hont.

Do share where you found them and how you contacted them. Do not share any more information with them.

@faya193

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES supply your DoB, that is not acceptable and words will be had.

You said it, to create an account, like any other site would do the same.

The OP was being asked DOB for payment refund, not a creation of an account.

You do realise you don't have to provide your actual DoB, yes? Like a lot of folks, I have two DoB, my real one and one I use on webforms of places that don't really need it but ask for it anyway.

Never crossed my mind.

There are tons of sites that do not even ask for a DOB, but I get your point.

This site preaches doing your research and being extremely careful not to get scammed. Maybe I'm overdoing it a little bit. Sorry to have bothered you all.

While the tone might sound as, idk, belittling or something, it isn't. I certainly are not bothered by a member trying to ensure their safety. We actually see so many that go the other way. They do things and then come back to us after they mess up. Kudos from me.

I appreciate it.

Some of the replies around here do come off a bit condescending, but I know from experience (in other forums/topics) that you guys deal with a lot of brain damage and repeating the same questions over and over and over (and over) so it is understandable at least.

Regardless, I appreciate the help from this forum. I would never even consider sending money to someone in China without the structure and accountability that this place tries to provide.
