A few shill accounts ran it up I see. Disappointing as that schmuck probably thinks he got a genuine bargain.

Such a shame that, it's really a gig isn't it. Absolute bar stewards.

I saw an older online listing of a gilt 1675 today that was noted to have been sold at auction 54,000 euros. It was an obvious Vietnam dial and the bezel insert looked very suspicious. 54k!

I instantly thought of this thread. Can't believe I didn't save the link! Would've loved to see the comments here on that listing.

Exactly! If the market wants gilt dialed, fuscia bezel 1675s during COVID shutdowns, you see 20 fakes appear overnight. Before that, it was the tropical dial phenomenon. All beautiful pieces, but buying into the trends well, probably not the best choice for an impulse purchase.

The biggest scam watches are the like new submariners. Buyers paying nearly new retail price for a watch that has an “aftermarket” bracelet and bezel. The buyers are never the wiser the seller took several thousand dollars of value from the watch.

"As your financial advisor, I suggest you finance a new Mercedes G-Wagon and pay the monthly notes with the highest interest credit card you have.

Can I interest you in going long on the my new ETF that's based on short term options? From there, we will finally put the London Bridge on the moon. Only one name per stone! Better sign up before it's too late."

It's always shocking that some people have zero moral compass. Greed is a wonderful trait.

Most importantly, I'm not touching a genuine watch until this thread approves. It's a damn impressive think tank, at the very least.
