Been around watches for years but Im just starting to discover the wonderful world of reps. I became interested after doing some laser-etching on a friends Rolex SD ( I design and build laser marking systems for various companies- also various types of lasers for medical application).
Never know- maybe Ill be useful to someone, but my wife might beg to differ!! Lol

Thanks!
I plan on posting some tut's about turning your old plotter into an excellent cnc diode pumped engraver- I thought it might be helpful to some of the modders who have a high flow of customers. For the average guy though- Im not sure how good it would be because of the costs associated, but ya never know! You could build a decent engraver for under $500 if you source your materials right.

He's on the right track with that rotor eh? How did he do it- CNC?
I think you'll find that Im biased toward lasers in that department for obvious reasons. Font size, line width and cut depth are all easily solved issues- just a couple of clicks of the mouse and maybe change the laser head assembly and you're in business. Cost is still a factor though- those babies chew up alot of Joules

Yep- Im sure I can, in fact Im building a new system that incorporates a CO2 pulsed laser that will give perfect depth and width to any font , dial it back a bit and I can replicate any brush mark or jewelling on the rotors or movement itself. Dial it up and I can cut micro-fine details into anything.

Cost is always a consideration of course, but I am considering working out some sort of trade or deal with someone so that I can showcase the abilities of my cutters as I have become smitten with the hobby and the opportunities to use my tools for some really cool stuff. Should be fun!

friend - with 6 post you need to earn some credit before someone will send you the rotor of his expensive HBB. We all love this watch, we all want the right engravings on it, so show us what you can do and bring up some references and you will have a lot of work to do. I am not trading my 127 to a newbie

Show us what you can

Listen- for one, who wants to burn you for a flippin rotor- second, I said "maybe we can work something out" and NOT "Hey- send me your watch"- your fake watch isn't worth my reputation so dont try to make it sound like I was trying to scam you or something.

Tell ya what- forget I even mentioned lasers and metalwork because if what you displayed is the general attitude here, I would prefer to help nobody.

I steal rotors all of the time. I can sell them to the Canal St guys for $5 each. Rollin in the dough. Please do not take offence. What you are talking about sounds really cool, and could be fun for both you and us. It would be really cool to use the skills you have from your profession for a hobby like this. Thanks for offering, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do.

You jumped into an ongoing sale, telling me you are interested in buying and you send me a PM with this:

As expensive as the process can be- Id be willing to work some sort of deal out in order to get the word out.
Maybe a trade on work?

The watch was for sale and not for trade. Period

HI, I am located in Germany, PayPal in USD would make it or a wire transfer to the bank would also be ok.

I may be one of your first customers for the HBB. Have 3 here and selling the 217 for another hbb project

Dieter

You received that reply because of the statement you had made in a previous pm (see above)
You then come into an open forum to try to discredit me when you have no idea who I am- gimme a break.
