thanks. thats what i imagined. can this movement be swapped out? will any other fit this case? is it worth it?

yes, yes with some other bits, probably not

Not worth the effort to put in an ETA or ETA clone movement since the dial feet and the hands wouldn't fit. Better to sell it and get a different watch with a better movement.
