This isn't my first rep purchase, so I know what the protocols are with TDs. Why do I care? Because I could've purchased a V3.5 (false V4) for $200 rather than the $258 for the true V4. Your logic is flawed; "If you can't tell the difference, why do you care?" I suggest YOU to not step on anyone's toes and re-think your replies before you post them.

Maybe you interpreted it in a different way. But my point is that if you have already purchased the watch, and if you cannot tell the difference, then there is no upside of knowing it. As soon as you know you didn't get what you expected, then you will loose the interest for a watch, that otherwise would make you happy. Hence my focus on getting the quality check right. As you can see from ALE7575's comment, there is a concern on the engravings, which is something that can happen in any version of the watch.
I will continue to contribute to the forum with my comments, as you're the first to take offence from them.

My interpretations were exactly what you meant, and I stand by being offended by that comment. It would be tantamount to going to a used car dealership and getting a salvaged car with a Carfax doctored or misrepresented as being a clean title. What I paid for was a V4, and I expect a V4. And to continue my comparison, If I wanted to pay for a salvaged car, I'd do just that, instead of buying a misrepresented car. If I wanted to buy the false- V4 that costs $200, I would do that, rather than $258 for the same false V4, albeit represented to me as the all-new Noob V4 111p. "What do I care if I can't tell that the car was flooded, as long as it looks like a clean car?" right?

I may be new to RWI but I'm a veteran of other fora and the mentality is always exactly the same. If I'm a vet and a noob posts a question that they could find out themselves I don't bitch and moan like an old fart with sand in their vagina. Just point them to the relevant place or link it. OP, we have a PAM111 thread where you could post QC pictures. You could have posted there and asked this question before you approved the QCs and avoided this thread altogether. I didn't know you could buy a PAM111 V3.5 for 200$, I don't see any such advertisements on that particular TD's site. Or you could mean an entirely different TD. Links?

It doesn't stop just because you say it stops actually. Vets on this forum need to recognise that they are being complete dicks to Newbs. You need to get your egos in check on here mate.

Like I said, some don't understand the meaning. Or don't know how to backread. Or on one hand say some egos need to be checked, but on the other are stroking theirs. :whistling:

There are people here on the forum, and in Panerai section especially, who dedicate a countless number of hours to study, discuss and evaluate every rep, and it's all done for free.
The only thing that's required for.a.noob is.to make.his reading before posting the same.question already posted twenty thousand times.
Specifically, in the last few months it appears that each member who buys a 111 asks ALE to check whether his watch is a.v4 or a v3 or a v3.5 or whatever, with no idea of what the real difference is.
Honestly I gave up replying.to this kind of.questions, but ALE is still giving his advice to each and every member asking. And this is what you have to reply when he says stop the fight? Amazing.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, and I do appreciate all of ALE's work he's done for the past years. I've been on this forum since 2009 and know the protocols of RWI. I've purchased many PAMs to date, including Pam111k back in 2010, Hfac 005, PAM111N v3, H Fac 288k. This isn't to say I'm omniscient in replica Panerais.
It is just astounding how someone can reply with "if you can't tell the difference, why do you care?" We are in this hobby to find / mod / pursue the closest replica; of course everyone on this forum cares, even if they don't immediately realize it. This forum would not exist if we did care to notice or look for flaws. The whole forum should take offense to that comment.
And believe me, I did do my due diligence with the false v4. The point of the thread was that I was paying true V4 prices, when the promo V4 is going for $200 http://tswatch.club/16825-new16825_45ef311b6843ee1228e1d4c467dab3da.html. I've read the promos are false v4s, while the 'true v4s' are $268 which I assume has the added premium for being the true v4s. That was the premise for my question. Ultimately, the point was why would I pay an extra $68 for the same watch going for $200? The flaw I already noticed were the poorly engraved OP writing in the back. So, this lead me to believe or assume that V4s are now going 1 step forward, two steps back like a lot of reps do. And here you guys are attacking me, calling me a noob? Fck it, I've been on here longer than most of you guys replying here. Get off your HH.
