Greetings from the UK! I’m Really excited to be a new member here.

Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone who has helped put together such a useful and informative site. It has been really helpful to have such great guidance as a newcomer to the world of reps.

The leadup to joining this site all started when I was dropping my Breitling Navitimer for a service. I was offered the chance to try on a few watches while I was waiting to be seen by the watchmaker. Up to this point I had never been in the market for a Rolex, being a dedicated Breitling guy, but after trying a few I fell in love with a black GMT-II and had to hold myself back from buying it there and then. Over the few weeks that followed this chance encounter with the GMT-II, I obsessed over buying one but didn’t want to commit to such a large purchase only having seen the watch once and worn it for just a few minutes. That’s when I thought, wouldn’t it be great to try the watch for a few months before purchasing. Now, I couldn’t find anywhere to “rent a Rolex” and so naturally I found myself looking for replicas. Luckily, just before I was about to purchase what would have been a disaster of a rep, I stumbled on this forum and quickly realised what a fascinating world of reps there is!

After some careful learning I have now made my first rep purchase from Steve at Theonewatches and am impatiently waiting for delivery .

I will follow this up with a post in “THEONEWATCHES - BUYER REVIEWS” forum and cover my choice of watch, experience thus far with my first purchase and provide a timeline as a reference for others who may be looking to buy a rep and are considering Steve.

Anyway, it’s Beer O’clock now, so I'm off to the Pub

hello mate welcome - leave here immediately otherwise your wallet will not survive.

you will quickly move from one watch to 20, then youll need to buy boxes for them all, then you'll discuss with people on here how to modify what watches you bought. then you'll realise you bought the wrong versions so will have to put threads into WTB and people will sell you another bunch of watches you didn't need.... then you'll get sick of some and sell them, then after a while you'll settle down to realise that you dont actually need 50+ watches ...30 or so will be enough. your friends will all think you've won the lottery when you start to turn up at pub with AP, PP, VC and Rolex on each week - then they'll start to ask you to buy more beer ....

so as you can see financial ruin is the only outcome - but a lot of fun on the way eh!!!!!

Oh Dear! The last thing I need is another expensive hobby, what with my whisky collection getting out of hand and consuming the house.... I should have stayed away! Oh well, at least watches are smaller than whisky bottles I suppose! That's how I will sell it to the wife anyway.

PS: Brings back sweet memories. First time completely shitfaced at 16 y in boarding school. A whole 0.7L bottle of Wodka with OJ all by myself, consumed within 20 mins. The next morning: the Zombie rises. No recollection of anything that happened from 30 minutes after the bottle was finished until waking up. I never had a black out ever again in the following 30+ years... Talk about life lessons.
