Hello, RWI family! I wanted to give a quick introduction and thank everyone here in advance for all the insight -- and laughs -- I'm certain to receive. I work in the comedy / MMA / entertainment industry [yeah, I wear a few hats!], so I welcome a laidback, humorous, but informative community.

In short, I've been a gen watch collector going on 8 years now. The brands have ranged rom Breitling, JLC, Rolex, Grand Seiko and more. I recently moved from NYC to the Southwest USA where my interest in reps immediately began on my first night going downtown alone...ending in a stab wound to my armpit due to a mix of talking to a woman that the bouncers of the club were keen for [who I ended up dating for a period -- the girl that is!] which then turned into a mix of interest in my gold chain and my gen Rolex GMT Master II 116710LN.

In the nick of time, my Lyft pulled up, and I got away from the melee with the watch, chain, girl, my life...and a stab to my armpit area that fortunately was protected mostly by my heavy peacoat. I bear the scar to this day!

Suffice to say, that watch is in the bank safety deposit box and hasn't seen the light of day since. And a feeling of dejection overcame me. Wearing that piece was an important part of my personality, both business-wise and personally.

I'd researched reps right after the incident, but finally pulled the trigger on a rep Rolex sports piece from a TD commonly mentioned on RepTime. Shipping began a little bit ago after QC sign-off, and I'm quite excited to share a review and pics once I receive. And I'm quite excited to be in a place where it makes sense to wear it now that I have friends in the MMA community to go out with, personal protection, and something I could justify giving to someone if it's life or death -- though I won't put myself in those positions again to the best of my ability...lol.

Naturally, I'm a little anxious now that shipping has begun as a first-timer. Which made me wonder if there's a thriving community for reps, even if pre-owned, in the states where shipping is less hit or miss. I'll be popping around the forums to get a feel for things and chime in.

The thought of collecting more high-end Rolex reps has really put a smile on my face, as I've given up on my NYC AD where I've purchased a good amount of watches, including Rolexes. Never received a single call, and the local AD doesn't even have a single piece on -- not even a lady's DJ. I'm now more than happy to invest in reps and spend my money on gens for brands I feel are fair in their pricing and pedigree: Parmigiani Fleurier, Vacheron, Grand Seiko, etc.

I feel like I'm back in the game and can't wait to engage in the community! Thanks again, everyone. See you all in the forums and chats!

Hello and WELCOME from the official RWI reception desk!

You are receiving this introduction because you either posted in the "new members say hi" section or —for the first time(s)— elsewhere. In the latter case, consider introducing yourself in the aforementioned section.

If you haven't already, please make sure to read all relevant sticky threads. They contain important and essential information such as the forum rules! Most importantly the sales rules, because you will NOT yet be eligible / allowed to sell unless you meet certain criteria / are certified first.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Please also take another look at this important sticky that you should already have seen after logging on for the first time:

This quick anti-fraud guide is essential if you are about to order from a dealer for the first time:

If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We will gladly help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

Thank you, eBoy. Great to meet ya. Hail to the RWI NMA Chief! Lol. I just realized I should've posted this in the "New Members Say Hi" sub-forum of the New Members Area, but didn't want to post the same thing in retrospect in two places. Apologies for my first [of probably many] screw-ups, lol. Let the roasting begin!

Why is one dude licking the neck of the other dude in your avatar?
LOL -- that dude is the one and only boxing icon Tyson Fury! It was during one of his fights against Deontay Wilder, and while Tyson was destroying him, he took the opportunity to "lick" the blood from injuries he had inflicted on Wilder. I don't think he actually licked him -- just an iconic moment from one of the best heavyweight bouts in modern times [IMHO]. I'm a boxing fan as much as a watch fan!

We are not going to discriminate based on your sexuality. You can lick who you want.

Oh you are going to fit in nicely here :) Welcome to the Dark Side.
The Dark Side has always compelled me -- no wonder I dressed as Jafar and as a Confederate Civil War soldier as a kid during Halloween [though I wish my parents kind of gave me a head's up on the latter costume -- I blame naivete! -- I genuinely just liked the color and had no clue about the implications, lol].
