I wouldn't have told him outright. I prob would have done two things. Told him that service is vital on Pams to advoid costly repairs and it would be a good idea to have the AD take a look to make shure all is OK. Then I would have told your mate and explained why you know. You may just get "yeah, he's a dick" or "Which AD did you send him too? This I wanna see!"
The big thing is that he DID get scamed he does somthing about it. It's these deals that REALY get up the gen makers. As a result they come after our little hobby even harder.
The automotive world has the same issues ATM. There are now reps of things like the Bugati T35 (30s GP car) that are so good an expert has trouble telling. A mate of Jay Lennos got caught out by this one a while back. These are tru 1:1 reps and as ours get closer to that point watch the gen makers get tougher than ever on reps. And they can get tougher, we're still here, ain't we? It's in our intrest that scamers like our mystrey ebayer are delt with. All there doing is pokeing the bear. And for the sake of the hobby it would be best if it remained asleep.
