That's how it is with me too. WomenSome people feel it helps to volunteer the "it's a fake" info from the outset rather than there being any room for doubt.
Others, like myself, don't feel the need to make any unprompted confession. I don't need to, because my wife always does it for me: "Oh that thing he's wearing? It's just a cheap Chinese fake, he couldn't afford a real one."
My first GF was also like this. My current GF is way cooler and said it is cool I franken'd mine. That's how it is with me too. Women

She's wearing her's with pride, because I made it (look better) for her
Caught in what sense?Hi everyone. New to RWI and reps in general. Just out of curiosity, has anyone been caught wearing a rep? Even the low quality, budget reps seem like they would fool just about everyone.
I would never pass a rep as gen. Some people do and are in constant fear of being caught.Caught in what sense?

It really depends on the rep. With something like an Omega, people are less likely to assume it’s a fake. But with a Rolex or a homage watch, it’s more likely to raise suspicions. Personally, I’m pretty open about it and usually tell people right away if it’s a rep or a homage. So far, the reactions have always been positive, with most people impressed by how good the watch looks. In my circles, there’s a growing awareness that luxury watches are often overpriced, and a well-made rep can actually be a better option. Even with homage watches, I’ve had people ask me where I got them and how much they cost.Hi everyone. New to RWI and reps in general. Just out of curiosity, has anyone been caught wearing a rep? I actually own a genuine watch, and funnily enough, it’s an old SMP quartz model. Ironically, people tend not to believe it’s real because it looks old and faded, and the biggest reason: it’s a quartz watch. So the funny part is, I get more positive reactions when I wear a rep or homage, while with my genuine piece, people straight-up assume it’s fake!Hi everyone. New to RWI and reps in general. I am of the personal opinion that, at some point, you have to view the luxury watch industry as a vehicle to fleece wealthy people.
Indeed.Who in their right mind lives in constant fear of this ?
