Hi guys, a question. What is the compatibility between hands and movement?
The hands used in SA3135, are compatibility with SH3135 or VR3135?
And hands for 2813 are compatibility with 2824 or 2836?
Sorry for my question but start now this fantastic hobby of watchmaker.
Many thanks.

Hey KJ, is the VR 3186 hand size the same as 3135? Also the gmt hand?

Can you guide to where would be a good source for 3135/3186 hands set please?

Good aftermarket 3185/6 hands are not real easy to find, you just have to look around. Startime and Esslinger.com have the wrong hand stack, their GMT hand is on the bottom.

WSO has them but I've never ended up using hands I bought from them.

Take a look at WatchMaterial.com I have a set of their gold GMT hands for my 16713. Not using them as I bought gen hands but they are decent I think. Type "GMT Hands" in search box.

You might get a 3135 minute and second hand to fit a VR3185 but even between rep GMT movements, hands are sometimes not perfectly interchangeable and need crimping or broaching.

Thank you sir, any idea on the gmt hand size on the vr 3186?

I’ve ordered WSO hands off that now waiting to see how they turn up

I know this is an old thread, but there's no need to reinvent the wheel.

Is there a way to enlarge a seconds hand from .20 or .22 and make it big enough to fit a .25 pinion? I'm not sure about the 3135, but 1570 and Seiko NH34/35 have longer pinions that could even accommodate a clone 2836 with the GMT function (that requires a rare-ish seconds hand.

Secondly, is it simple with a staking set to shrink a 1.00 or.95 hole minute hand down to a .90?

Obviously, there's only so much material to work with, so what sizes are the minimum and maximum sizes that should reliably work to make them fit ETA 28XX movements?

I seem to find plenty of generic Rolex hands and Seiko hands, but the variety in ETA hands seems to be stagnant or shrinking.
