You've done more than enough already, people expect the world these days. If he wanted specific measurements, he should have done his due diligence beforehand.
I sell on ebay and do not refund shipping. Unless the item has a mistake on the listing, my error. But not just because they want to whine. You're fine, I wouldn't have taken the bracelet back though. You delivered to him what you offerred accurately, the fact that it doesn't fit his watch is HIS problem not yours. I sell stuff on ebay, buyers like this are very annoying and a big waste of time, thats why a lot of sellers add a 20% restock fee on platforms that allow it.
And yeah, taking the shipping out of it is the best idea because it makes you 100% again. The fact that he expects YOU to take a loss because of HIS issue is f'ing hilarious. You should name and shame this guy so sellers can avoid him.
A general rule in selling - If it's YOUR issue, YOU take the loss, that's good customer service 101. If it's HIS issue, HE takes the loss. It not fitting despite being the accurate 20mm size is HIS issue, not yours. You were sympathetic (which is also good customer service) and offered a refund MINUS your cost. That's 100% fair.
Shipping doesn't come out of $60, shipping is in addition to. Regardless, he doesn't owe him a dime. He's not a business. The buyer changed his mind, why should the seller lose? Giving a refund, even partially is like letting the buyer scam him.In that case, I can see his point. 2x8,5 out of 60 makes a 28% loss for him and none for you.
I would suggest to send him 4.25 and call it a day.
They could also send everything to me, i will fix the bracelet and fix the watch and refund both. And give a polish on top.Did you do a proper sales thread with pics and indicated the size? Was the bracelet in the same condition as the pics when you shipped?
If yes, I feel you did the right thing by refunding, and I also feel it's normal that the buyer eats the shipping as he bought what he saw, and should have asked for measurements prior paying.
Else ask @Itto

I think he's dreaming, I think he's lucky you refunded at all. It's not your problem he doesn't know what bracelet fits his watch. I hope you received the bracelet back before making any refund.now he said he wants the $8.51 back, what do you guys think about this.
ThisI can't seem to find a link to said bracelet sale... that's breaking the rules @tbandy - I hope there was one?
This againHowever with regard the question, as most have said. Nup, no way. And he's lucky he got money back at all.
Just spent that on a Starbucks, damn you inflationSo much ado about 8.51$? Really?
I think that the amount was secondary. So much ado about 8.51$? Really?
First of all, I wasn't selling anything. I saw a post from a fellow member saying that he needs a replacement bracelet for his DJi do want a link to this sale , or i want an explanation as to why its ok to do backdoor sales please
If you had gifted the bracelet that would be one thing but money exchanging hands is a sale and if there is no approved sales thread then it is considered a backdoor sale.First of all, I wasn't selling anything.
I commend you for doing that, helping a fellow member is a GOOD ideaI was just trying to help someone who has a broken bracelet, but now I see that trying to help is BAD idea
Helping out is not a bad thing, nobody says that. But try to see it from this point of view:First of all, I wasn't selling anything. I saw a post from a fellow member saying that he needs a replacement bracelet for his DJ
So I decided to contact him via PM telling him that I have 2 and sent him the pictures so he can choose which one he likes
He pointed the one of his interest, the he asked me how much, then I asked him that how much he think was a fair price !

But I am just a collector not a dealer in any way !
