I just recently sold a 20mm bracelet to another fellow member for $60.00 I paid for the shipping $8.51 which means $60.00 shipped
But then he told me that the bracelet won't fit his DJ.
So I told him to send it back which he did so I refund him the $60.00
Less the $8.51 which I paid for the shipping, now he said he wants the $8.51 back, what do you guys think about this.

Did you do a proper sales thread with pics and indicated the size? Was the bracelet in the same condition as the pics when you shipped?

If yes, I feel you did the right thing by refunding, and I also feel it's normal that the buyer eats the shipping as he bought what he saw, and should have asked for measurements prior paying.

Else ask @Itto

You're fine, I wouldn't have taken the bracelet back though. You delivered to him what you offerred accurately, the fact that it doesn't fit his watch is HIS problem not yours. I sell stuff on ebay, buyers like this are very annoying and a big waste of time, thats why a lot of sellers add a 20% restock fee on platforms that allow it.

And yeah, taking the shipping out of it is the best idea because it makes you 100% again. The fact that he expects YOU to take a loss because of HIS issue is f'ing hilarious. You should name and shame this guy so sellers can avoid him.

A general rule in selling - If it's YOUR issue, YOU take the loss, that's good customer service 101. If it's HIS issue, HE takes the loss. It not fitting despite being the accurate 20mm size is HIS issue, not yours. You were sympathetic (which is also good customer service) and offered a refund MINUS your cost. That's 100% fair.

Yes I sent him pictures and I clearly specified that it was 20.0mm but in my opinion his watch is weird cuz I have a couple of DJ and the bracelet fit
Just Perfect. I am saying his watch is weird cuz he said that the spring bars won't line up with the holes.
The reason I post this thread here is to hear your opinion cuz I think it's not fair to end loosing money out of nothing !

Yes exactly, you didn't do anything wrong, therefore you shouldn't have to lose any money.

Yes you are correct I was just trying to help a fellow member who post that he was in need of a bracelet here !
Yeah in case it wasn't clear, OP is fully in the right - no reason to pay shipping for someone else's mistake. If buyer doesn't like it, he can sell it to someone else and get the new buyer to pay the shipping. Besides, 8 bucks isn't a big loss for the guy, they shouldn't expect the seller to pick up the tab.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. You've already done the guy a solid by taking the watch back. What's he going to do? Message the mods? You've done more than what most others would for the guy so you're totally fine just leaving it as is.

In that case, I can see his point. 2x8,5 out of 60 makes a 28% loss for him and none for you.

I would suggest to send him 4.25 and call it a day.
Maybe I'm just a bad person but I would let the buyer take the loss. He could have re listed it and got the new buyer to pay the additional shipping.
