Grudges against watch brands

My newb journey in the replica watch world is pretty exhilarating so far. After years of lusting after iconic watches, watching YouTube videos, and window shopping at ADs now I can own a version of some of the best pieces. I kind of want to buy everything right now, much to my wife's consternation.

To slow my roll I'm trying to set some guidelines. Maybe no reps of gen that cost less than 5K. Maybe one of each of the major brands. Maybe try to strictly adhere to the one in, one out rule.

But now I think my rule is grudge based. For example, I've been reading a lot of Perezscope's articles and many of the watch makers don't give a flip about their customers or their loyalty. So I'm going to try to stick to brands that "deserve" to get repped:

- Panerai & IWC as mentioned above
- Cartier got dragged in a bit
- Rolex because the AD sales model is ridiculous
- Omega because they have really long model names
- AP, PP, VC because how dare they cost so much
- RM & Hublot because what the hell

I'm really thinking this approach is going to help...

Buy what you like. If you're like me, you'll find out over time what you really want.

Then you can get rid of what you no longer like via M2M.

Buying rep luxury watches to selectively punish watch companies is a very funny form of restorative justice to me, but as another noob that’s finding it difficult to stop buying everything I see, if it works it’s great!

You could what I do and buy something you like the look of on M2M in the hope of mixing it up, only to find you like what you like and should stick with that because that's what you'll wear. And then sell it on! You've only got two wrists, that's the beauty you reps right? You can try it all..

Take it a step further and buy gen in the rep you've worn for ages. Knowing you'll wear it!

OTOH the watch brands that seem more upstanding get my genuine support, at least theoretically.

- Seiko because they are awesome
- Citizen & Bulova for the value
- Grand Seiko because the movements
- Zenith because the movements
- Tudor because they have it in stock
- Breitling because I'm a sketchy dude
- Microbrands since nobody bothers to rep them
