They wont pursue you for this. Look at all the cases RLX and the firm that represents them have filed (search internet) and it is very small. The ones they went after all had internet sites selling replicas. As for someone like me who had an authentic clock and then asked me to return it and then incriminate myself which is total B.S. It's mine not theirs because there was no markings on this clock stating it was the property of the so said company. I truly believe they make a lot of money sending these letters out all the time. Think, if you sent a thousand of these out a week for the price of a postage stamp and 100 sent you $350.00, that is quite the profit.
It is a game they play, small firms that go by "for and behalf" and shit like that. They just go about sending letters and scare tactics hoping that a few poor souls will actually send them payment, which they pocket, and the product you send them back too. It helps pay their rent space, utility bills, and secretaries pay, and on a good days collection, a night out in Manhattan ! It is a grey area, and technically legal. Don't even answer their Emails at all. Ignore them, they are just craigslist and ebay crocodiles on the prowl fishing for prey !
I mean "we" as in the posters on the board in general. I am an attorney, but not in intellectual property, though I am aware of site trolling practices and having been on the receiving end of one of these letters in the past.
As if Rolex would take the time to send a letter to a schmuck on ebay for selling a rep. It would cost them more in attorney fees that it's worth.

That is straight up extortion. F them and don't pay. That's equal of a "parking ticket" from a private parking lot. I would wipe my ass with it if it was printed on softer paper.

It is a letter of settlement that is not enforceable. It would only be enforceable if it was sanctioned by an authorizing court, in which case you would be legally obliged to pay or be held accountable for non payment.
I wouldn't pay and furthermore I would send back a response outlining my disconcert and dissatisfaction at their attempt to obtain money from me in such a fashion. Within my letter would be my bill to them outlining the costs I have incurred responding to them and receiving their correspondence. I would advise them that they have 14 days in which to pay and if payment in not received in full within the 14 days that I may decide to recoup my money through official channels with the assistance of my own legal representative.
But that's just me. Hate it when people try and take the piss and rip you off!

I don't think sending a letter back asking for compensation is a good idea....especially if you've been dumb enough to sell an illegal replica on eBay. It will attract further unwanted attention to the illegal act already committed.
Best just ignore it.
Just ignore it ! don't write back, ever ! You're writing back gives them your Email address, your name, and well, maybe your address. Now they have more info that YOU just gave them !! Don't even send them a reply, ever. If you really have to send them a picture of your un-wiped ass, sent it via an internet café or public library computer !! And make it a nice close-up !
Depending on which firm we're talking about, the sooner you stop contacting them, the better. Once again, the posters on this board cannot give you advice about whether or not you are infringing on trademarks. You could try complaining to the state bar of whatever state they are located in (though state bars hardly every act on complaints about attorneys where the complaint does not arise from that attorney's representation of you). Further, a lot of corporations employ salaried attorneys who get paid the same whether they are pursuing a multi-million dollar case or sending prefabricated demand letters.
