Howdy fellas. Well I've been super busy the last few days and wanted to get a check-in last night as we're on our way on holiday today for the next few weeks.

Doc, congrats on the 2000 buddy. Here's to many more.

Jeff, I'm no fisherman but that's a lovely fish.

Well last night turned out to be a mad rush as we learned of the chaos at the Diver ferry terminal as the French have heightened security, so rather than setting off at 7am, we left at 1am. No sleep since Friday and I'm driving to the south of France.

We're sitting in the queues now so check-in time [emoji4] We've been over three hours already and only moved 4 miles. Only one mile to go to the ferry terminal though.

Have a great couple of weeks friends. I'm gonna be rather sloshed quite a bit [emoji4]

Doc enjoy the start of your new vocation. Everyone else, well, you have fun too

I am about 4 hours from ely, they have some good snowmobiling trails up there :) and good fishing!

If you ever get to
Visit them let me know.

And my update of the weekend GTG.....

NC GTG as it happened for jeane123.

As I am getting ready to fly home I reflect on the past 2 days and the events thereof.
Firstly let me say I was really excited to come to the GTG here in Charlotte. Thus I booked my flight fairly early and tried to get some type of a schedule figured out for the weekend. As soon as the details were released about the area that we were all going to be in I called a few hotels, asked for the best deals and shared the information on the forum. A few weeks before the scheduled GTG I saw a few members drop out (due to legit reasons and which I understand). I flew out anyways on the Friday at about 1pm and delay after delay forced me to get to Charlotte about two hours later than anticipated. I assumed that nothing was going to happen on the Friday night and didn’t see any updates from anyone. Thus I just went out for dinner, hung around and met some really interesting locals.
On Saturday I went to the South Park mall, picked up a few items and visited some AD’s and some other stores.
I ended up picking up some items and getting a birthday gift for the mrs for next month. After spending about three hours in the mall, I figured at this point no-one was going to show and thus I am on my own for the remainder of the weekend. I was going to make the best of the situation and have fun while doing it. I went across the road from the mall and had some appetizers and drinks at the treehouse and again met some interesting locals, I decided to put my AP diver in my pocket and went to visit the ECJ Luxe Watch boutique located in the Diamonds Direct store. WOW they had an amazing spread of watches there ranging from AP, to Zenith and everything in-between (no Rolexes though). I tried a few on, and I now have a newly found love for the grey-themes AP. If you are local to Charlotte you need to check out their shop its world-class and will put most boutiques to shame. After spending another two hours there I returned to the treehouse for dinner and called it a night.
Early this morning I grabbed some coffee, breakfast and headed out to the airport to to change my flight as my original one only left at 7pm tonight. Luckily they were able to get me on another flight and I will be home for dinner instead of midnight.

All in all, the weekend was a disappointment for obvious reasons, but the amazing hospitality of the people here in Charlotte is something that needs be mentioned.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I am a little “watched-out†for a few days.

So let me get this straight, no one showed up or you were not able to find @ MSAMatt ? Did you not have Matt's cell number? I heard that the group was going to meet sometime (no time given) at Ruth Chris Steak House on Saturday night.

Matt had a family emergency, but no-one else showed. Oh well. I had a fun weekend anyways. Matt was great and communicated to me as soon as he could that he wasn't going to make it. Just to be clear.

That’s good to know, sorry that Matt had a family emergency. I know it caused a big argument at my house because my wife scheduled a family event without consulting with me which caused me to miss the GTG.

Jean, dude. I cannot tell you how bummed I am that I had to bail. No doubt GTGs are hard to get to come together but personally I just sick about it. If there is anything you need or I can do PLEASE ask me. Please

My family and I decided it's time to go see how the polebarn is coming along, so we are back at the farm (middle of nowhere Wisconsin) for 2 or so days. I am looking forward to some farm time playing with the toys, kids and dog! I will post a few pics as the week progress as apparently we now have service here which was great news as we haven't been here in about 2 months. No more dead-zone for this guy! Hope you are all doing well!

Hey guys. Well I'm living the dream down here in south of France. Weather is perfect and the wine is even better. Gutted you missed out on the GTG Jean, sounds like a bum deal but you made up for it.

So tomorrow is my wife's birthday and our friends have offered to have the kids so we can go out for a meal. I'm pretty excited. Moules et frites down here is pretty fantastic.

Tonight we're on the terrace it's 7pm and still 33 degrees.

Jeane... I have VERY thick routes in WI. Literally I have family all over. And I am there a bunch throughout the year. Some lower (Beloit), Madison, Green Bay, amberg, west bend, Appleton, Germantown, Milwaukee, fondalauc, and a bunch more [emoji23] I'm clearly a Midwestern.. But I cant leave this east coast as much as I want too!
