Hey guys, I just wanted to show off a rep I snagged on Wish for about $120. Here it is next to a rep that i purchased for almost $1000. I'll tell you which one is which at the end. Before buying my first Daytona rep, I never knew that such high quality reps were even a thing. It's fascinating how close they are to the real thing. I will tell you that I have spent DAYS trying to differ between my rep Daytona and a real one, I even compared them side by side at an AP. look and feel Is identical, including the functions. The only thing you can tell with the naked eye is different is the coloring of the numbers in the ceramic bezel, they arent quite as bright on the rep. Besides that, you literally need a microscope to see the differences in finish in very specific places, yes, I used a microscope.
Ok, now that I've told you about my expensive rep, how does the wish version compare? Anything more than a foot away, you can't see any differences. Right up close to your eye you do start to see some slight differences. All of the logos, numbering and branding, coloration are on point at close range, you can't tell from the photo, take my word for it, the Wish Watch even has the laser etch. The crystal is slightly thinner. Although the bands look identical, the Wish version feels lighter, loose and hallow for some reason, and has a much different sound to it and can attract to a magnet. The clasp is a bit difficult to open, and the micro extend adjust link wont stay snapped closed. Function wise, the mechanical winder feels different when I shake the watch, Not sure if it can self wind in both directions. The sweeping second hand moves continuously, there's no timer function. The buttons just move the hands on the left and right dials, they dont move automatically. I haven't payed attention to the bottom dial but I can say that it does move on its own. The buttons and the crown guard are also slightly different sizes. The biggest give away is the number coloring in the bezel, it's way too bright.. I'm not taking a microscope to it, there's no point.
So if you haven't figured it out yet, the Ice Blue daytona is the Wish Cheap-o
If this was my first and only rep, i would be VERY satisfied with it. I'm happy with it now because it was a very tough choice between these 2 styles, and I was happy choosing the Panda, but now I have both!!! I actually ordered another panda style from Wish for a family member, he's going to love it.
I'm making this post just to make a contribution of info to the community. I haven't been here long, but I've seen a lot of posts calling Wish and DH Gate washes complete trash. Yes, there's some risk, but it's a small risk, Paypal will refund you, Wish will refund you, It's worth it. I have also found it to be very difficult and discouraging to purchase from one of the "Trusted dealers" I went thru 5 vendors before I was able to purchase a different watch from one of them.
If you've made it this far into my review, maybe you can help me out:
Does anyone know how to identify what factory a rep has come from?
Based on what i have described, could someone identify what movement is in my Wish watch?
Looking forward to wasting many hours here.
