What good cheap smokes do you like? I've tried a lot of lousy $10 to $20 cigars. But I've also found a few really good $3 to $5 cigars.

I just picked up some Perdomo Reserve Champagne's from CI and the are pretty damn good considering they were $35 for a dozen. They are a really nice mild to medium bodied smoke. Last forever too!

Another mild cheapo I like is the Gurka Park Avenue. I'm on my second box of those. I think those will be my standard "golf cigar".

My favs are many in any denomination but there are many good cigars that fit your criteria IMO.

Cain F's 5.7X50
Diesel Unholy Cocktail
Ambos Mundos
Alec Bradley Tempus
601 Blue and Black

Try the Ambos and Cain's first.

These are all medium full.

I haven't tried these yet but a friend told me to give it shot.
Gran Habanos Vintage 2002 Corojo #5's Between 3-5 stick.

Awe crap thanks Coldi. I cannot believe I forgot the Brickhouse. :)

I have another must try too. It comes for Arturo Fuente Jr. himself.

Go to http://www.tampasweetheart.com/ and find Flor de Ybor City Cigars on the left side bar. http://tampasweetheart.com/?page=sh...b3&PHPSESSID=2c31329ca180fa592f976a8fcd222356

He told me this is their most popular smoke and his everyday favorite. I chose the Maduro. ;) It is in fact a great cigar for the money. It's no God of Fire but it's comparable to a Diamond Crown Maxiums IMO.

70.00 plus shipping for 20 smokes. Join the club, spend 300 and get $10 credit. Save those credits. :)

Cuban:

La Flor de Cano Selectos - $2.50 to $3.00/ea very smooth decent smoke

H. Upmann Magnum 46 - $7 - $9/ea nice medium flavor some burn issues, very complex

Non Cuban:

Padron 2000 - $4-$6/ea - nice medium flavor smoke, with a little pepper and spice. Very consistent nice burn.

Ambos Mundos (r2 smoked one forward to me) - $4 to $6 ? - nice medium to full flavor, very complex and consistent.

El Baton Robusto - $4-$6/ea - nice full flavor smoke

tflgee - you anywhere near San Diego? I'd be glad to share/trade a few sticks with you.

You guys have it good across the pond. You almost need to take out a second mortgage to smoke any kind of tobacco over here.

I'm envious of threads like this.

Puff away.

Im an avid cigar guy with an unfortunately small budget. Not surprisingly, almost everything in my humidors is "budget". Good thing then that $10 will buy you an exceedingly good smoke in most places. Couple of my picks:

Cain Habano Robusto
Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 toro
Rocky Patel Sun Grown toro
Nub 460 Habano/Connecticut
Oliva Serie V Maduro limited
Drew Estate Java "The 58"
Drew Estate Acid Kuba Kuba
Ghurkha 1887 Robusto
Alec Bradley Family Blend T11
La Gloria Cubana torpedo no.1

Your best bet is to try a bunch of different smokes and buy a box of what you enjoy. Most Cuban cigars will run you well under 20 dollars a stick if purchased at the correct place. Don't get suckered, do your research.

My current favorite everyday smoke: 5 Vegas Gold Connecticut. Nice and smooth, good draw, some spice at the foot and then creamy throughout. 65 bucks a box at CI for the 6x54 torpedo.

I like the 5 Vegas Golds, Gurkha Park Avenue in Connecticut ($60), Graycliff G2 ($60) and Gispert ($57 to $62). All are boxes of 20. Generally, I prefer a Toro or Belicoso, 6 X 50,52 or 54.

Lately, as I'm "underemployed", I've stepped up to more medium to full smokes for less money. La Diferencia Cubana is a Habano; medium smoke with tons of flavor and light spice ($40). I've also come across Fonseca Arana, another Habano with a Criollo'08 filler. Medium to full body, tons of spice... delicious and only $40 to $45 a mazo of 20.

The next special occasion will merit a box of La Herencia Cubana Originals (something I've wanted to try for awhile) at $64 a box of 20.

All of these can be had at either Cigar.com or CI. Stay thirsty my friends... :maty:

Come on guys. Life is too short for cheap smokes !

As you well know, you don't have to buy gen watches either. You can buy a cheap rep and be just as happy... or not. Try some of the sticks mentioned bro'. You don't have to spend $10 or even $5 to get a 90 rated smoke. ;)

I've tried the Vegas ones you guys mentioned. I have a good friend who manages a Cigar shop, so I get hooked up. I honestly do not smoke Cigars that are that costly. I have some Romeo and Julietas and Macanudos that I keep in my Humidor. My days of $50 Cigars are over. I have a mortgage, 2 car payments , a daughter and another on the way. You all know Southern California is FAR from cheap ! :(
