I´d like to start a thread here for all, and we are many, dedicated golfers here at RWI with famous or infamous GOLF QUOTES.

Many quotes have helped me to understand certain things in this game quicker and better mentally. I will post here from time to time, but with the upcomming season I hope some other addicts will post the one or other favorite quote, maybe with some comments, too.
___________

I´ll start with the great Gary Player:

"The harder you work, the luckier you get"

...no comment needed here..

Enjoy

The sport of choice for the urban poor is basketball.
The sport of choice for maintenance level employees is bowling.
The sport of choice for front-line workers is football.
The sport of choice for supervisors is baseball.
The sport of choice for middle management is tennis.
The sport of choice for corporate officers is golf.

Conclusion: The higher you are in the corporate structure, the smaller your balls become.

For this week:

If it goes right, it's a slice.
If it goes left, it's a hook.
If it goes straight, it's a miracle!

Doesn´t help you game; but it´s a fact!

I've always liked Sam Snead's quote, "my mind is blank and I'm as loose as a goose."

I think the aspect of clearing your mind from all the technical things and not let your mind get in the way is great. Once the fundamentals of the swing become natural and repetitive, it's becomes easy to not over-think and simply swing away.
