I really dig this watch and almost pulled the trigger on one yesterday. Something just didn’t look right to me and I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. It just hit me what’s wrong. Whoever created the dial doesn’t know shit about Roman numerals because IIII isn’t 4. They just made up their own number and everyone naturally knew what they meant. It’s taken me so long to catch it I was hesitant to mention it. Did you catch it right away?
Good point. But for clocks, most had preferred to use IIII instead of IV. Very interesting read if you do a quick search on this tooI really dig this watch and almost pulled the trigger on one yesterday. Yeah I think it’s extremely interesting how everyone seen it and recognized it as representing 4 without any red flags popping up for years and years that there was something different about it.Good point.
