It seems no doubt the most popular rep on here is the submariner. I really want a gmt master ii. Struggling to find people that have the same version to ask if they have had any problems etc. The one I've been looking at is the gmt master ii 116710blnr black/blue best edition a3186 correct hand stock.
Or
To keep things simple.
A slightly cheaper noob sub c black v7.
Help would be much appreciated
Thankyou

I'd stick with the simpler, tried and true submariner. Your call on SA3135 or 2836, but I prefer the more readily available 2836 for long term parts availability. There have been some postings regarding reliability on the GMT with CHS. Personally I'd wait until there are more out there... Pretty much where the SA3135 was when it was first released...No replacement parts available. I believe the issue seen is related to the GMT hand sticking. Visually they are all good, my concern is reliability in the long term.

I have the GMT CHS Black/Blue Edition purchased a month ago, I love it. and So far haven't had any movement issues. I did however had to get the bezel numbering recolored so that it matched all around.

Definitely recommend Sub if you're having any bit of struggle deciding.

If you definitely love the GMT II, then get it, after all that's the point why we buy anything is because we like it.

If you're wondering what you should get, then the submariner, it has better resell chances/prices, it is forever a classic, and will give you so much less headache than GMT II.

Thank you everyone. Its a shame about the gmt. I would want the watch to last as long as possible with no hassle in sending it back or being repaired etc.

If that is the case, and your heart is set on the GMTII, get the one with the 2836. Your hand stack will not be correct, but your movement is reliable, with lots of watchmakers experienced in working on them should you ever have problems. Most people do not know about the handstack issue (except for members of this forum), so your chance of being called out are low.

It is up to you how you'll answer that question, and who is the one asking. In my experience, most people will ask "Is it real?" when they see your Rolex. It happens to me quite often especially when I'm wearing my gens! Once they know I own gens, they don't question when they see me wear a rep.

The noob best edition in comparison to this one. Would the noob not look better?, all the differences in the description?

I prefer the Noob V2, which I believe is also sold as the "Best Edition." But check with your TD.

Compared to my gen, the BP round hour markers are too large and the date wheel font is too thick. Should you get one, (or the Noob) you can always change it out for a TC or BK DWO. Also, the change between the blue and the black on the ceramic insert is too pronounced - like it was painted on rather than baked on.

And enjoy all the problems too. It's forum... Here to help. Simple

Hilarious, you're asking random strangers on a web forum to help you spend your money. When your initial post stated that you wanted/want a GMT Master II. Get the GMT Master II... Head over to the Rolex sub and research.

I have both. IMO the later Noobs are great. Some people have had problems with the CHS movement in the GMT. I haven't and I have also the EXP II with same movement. The sub I have is a V7 with the AS 3135 movement Itis a great timekeeper and later versions seem solid. i have three of those movements.

Here is my Sub and GMT

I own one Rolex. The GMT-Master II full black. I have never regretted buying it as I still wear it with pleasure and pride! But.... I was in the same dilemma as you are now and judging on hindsight going for the GMT would be a mistake.

Let me explain it to you, I am not affluent enough to buy both, you probably aren't either as you are posting this here, lol. I am searching for my second watch at the moment but I keep coming back at me good old Submariner which I never really bought. Even though I want it so badly they look too familiar to buy them both in my opinion. Maybe I should just go for it but for my second watch I want something completely different.

If I had bought a Sub I would probably have been forgotten about the GMT... which doesn't seem to happen to the Sub now that I own a GMT.... Follow your heart anyway! Enjoy!!!
