Nice job! Thank you for sending some pics. It looks great! I’ll get a case soon and get to work, I already have a gen 93250 bracelet.

I’m going to throw it on a Startime jubilee and I’ll work on transplanting a stamped clasp onto the ST.

I’m also going to be transplanting a 93250 clasp onto a 93150 bracelet for my 16800.

That will look sweet! Jubilee always looks good, it’s also nice to be able to mix it up.

Agreed! I’ll have an older style oyster and a jubilee for the Explorer. And likely do the same for the other 2 GMTs

lol, I was saying that I need to get one and then I’ll be all set ;)

The polar is an older Tritium dial but has zero lume. I’d like to get it relumed in a vintage color so that it looks aged. I think I could do a 16550 with it.

Hahaha, damn, I thought they were for sale! I like the 16550 bezel much better but they are unobtanium, which sucks. There is someone on the Bay selling an aftermarket 16550/16570 bezel that’s very close but still off.

There are a couple 16550 bezels out there, but as you say they are not common at all and usually quite expensive. Typically $500+ just for the bezel with the wide numbers.

This is the one on the Bay, not bad, but not close to gen.

Yeah, close but the zeros on 16550 are wider.

The stuff I was watching is gone now :(

The link you posted does indeed show a 1675 (BP) case, which would also be accurate for a 16750 as that case did not change from the 1675. However the BP 1675 case is not very accurate to gen. The BP side profile does not have the right curves and the CGs are crazy skinny. The BP acrylic crystal is correct for a 16750, however the rivet bracelet is not. The 16750 was only offered with oyster or jubilee. The BP dial coronet is wrong (affectionately known as "frogfoot" due to the outer spires being shorter) - this type of coronet never appeared on a gen GMT dial.

Your mention of this model being available with a 3186 is the first I've heard of it but if Ryan says so I would believe him. BP does make a 16710 case with a 3186 movement, you might want to verify that the case will stay the same. The 3186 has the hour hand on the bottom, which is correct for a 16750. As pictured in the link, that 16750 has the GMT hand on the bottom, which is not correct for model.

I did a blueberry in a 16710 case, if you want to see what that looks like.

Beautiful piece! I am thinking on purchasing and then modding ( with a modder) a 1675, but I am realizing that maybe it´s too complicated and expensive, and maybe I will be better getting a 16710 instead. Looking at yours make me think even more about it.
What are the specs? any recommendation for a genspec or closer as possible to gen for a 16710? thanks!

Closest thing you will get to Gen spec with a 16710 at the moment is Viet case and custom build.

The BP one is fine, but it has some pretty decent flaws.

Thanks, so at the end it's the same as with the 1675. Is your dial viet as well?

My GMT dials are gen.

1675 I would suggest going with a Milk Case (he’s a member here).

16710, 16700, 16570 etc Viet cases (choose your poison, I went with Bivintage)

Noted! The 16710 blueberry of yours is fantastic. I guess that the movement, having the gen dial, would be a clone. I was thinking of an ETA but I understood it won't work with gen dial. Thanks again

I think you’re thinking of KJ. But I also plan on making a 16710 Blueberry :)
