Saw a girl last night in front of the Verizon center in DC's chinatown with a big swastika tattoo on her shoulder. I assumed it was something else so got closer and saw she had an SS tattoo on her arm and a skull on the back of her neck.

Wanted to get a picture but I was pushing my kids in a stroller and could not get my phone out easily.

Even wierder than seeing this in a crowded urban street is that she was an otherwise perfectly normal looking 25 to 30 year old walking with two other perfectly normal looking people, one of whom was an attractive black girl.

I just can't reconcile this in my head.

Well, without the SS tat (not sure what that could be), the swastika could be referring to the Hindu, Buddhist or Jainist religions, though use of it today for religious purposes in the western world is rare and would be a ballsy tat.

Probably just a neo nazi...

Yeap, u can tell if it's religion related if it's "square" and not tilted like the diamond shape of the nazi symbol.
They pretty much ruined the symbol..

Don't remember, wish I had gotten a picture.

I have thought about so many possible back stories.

Maybe the black girl confronting her in a very civilized manner.

You sound like you've never seen a nazi or skinhead before. There were quite a few where I'm from, some even among my close friends otherwise quite normal people. Some changed their beliefs others still keep them, some got to be lawyers now.

I remembered seeing that the symbol's orientation makes all the difference:

Risky tat regardless, IMHO. Brave if she's into Hinduism.

She is obviously not a Hindu as she sports an SS and skull tat as well.
I'm sorry but I would normally not care what you want to put on your body, in this case though it strikes a nerve and I would not shed a tear for any future consequences this woman suffers as a result of her inappropriate and disgusting choice of body art. A lot of good people lost their lives eradicating the twisted and malignant regime that spawned the swastika and SS symbols. A grandfather and great uncle from my family alone. JMHO

I was at king Richards faire last fall with some friends (big Ren faire park type thing in MA) and there was a guy in full gestapo officers uniform, with a gas mask.

All I could think is "how did your life get to this point".

This guy bought a really expensive gestapo officers uniform replica

He wears it

He wears it OUTSIDE

and then to top it off

He wears it to a medieval ren faire

Some people are just ******* idiots. Good for her, because she is an ignorant piece of shit, she labeled herself as such for life. Good Luck getting a job other than the resident whore for the local neo nazi chapter.

While attending art college I met this guy at the school where he did show about it. He's an odd guy but pretty lucid and not a racist. His name is Manwoman.

What do these people with non-hide-able tattoos say in job interview, " I will be an asset to this company because I love everybody and I am a people person." Who hires these assholes and how they feed themselves. Makes you think.

Although there may be similar religious symbols to swastika would anyone actually tattoo them on their body so they can explain the difference to people everyday for the rest of their life?

His is a noble effort, I give him a lot of credit for putting his beliefs in action. Personally, I'd take a hard and conscientious worker with tattoos over a lazy one any day.

Hum how do we feel about wearing homage watches that we're worn by fascists during WWII?
