Woah. Here they just knock at the door and say "donate" and you get nothing. Even worse, they put your name on a list and you have to sign. Of course this is to keep the kids from thieving on the donations but when you sign you usually can see how much the neighbors gave... So I much prefer the american way of raising funds. After just having walked our neighborhood with my daughter selling these, all I can can say is - Awesome!.
(although we do have great neighbors who all bought some)...
I figure that any kid who has the nerve to stand in front of a Safeway store and ask me to buy her cookies deserves the positive reinforcement she gets when I buy whatever they're legitimately selling.
I look at a neighborhood lemonade stand the same way. Give the kid 50 cents even if you pour out the drink. The fact that they took the initiative to set up a tiny business, and will learn to deal with rejection, is behavior that adults should help them to learn and appreciate.
Just my $0.02.
Those bastards were out there again! And I didn't have my cell phone!!!
So I just started picking my nose. It worked!
I really showed them!

Nice win, Q!
I don't get chocolate and mint together. I despise GS cookies. My wife and I use the "we just bought some yesterday" tactic.
For the record, I do support the girls who sell at my door. This was meant to help those who were in a rush after a long day at work!
I hope you will forgive me tommyboy!
