You don't need a specialty hammer...
I used a regular hammer and a thin nail as a tool. To remove the pin, place the sharp end of the nail on the side where you can see the end of the pin and tap the hammer lightly. To put the pin back in, simply reverse the hammer, with the broad side against the pin head and tap lightly again. Overall very easy to do with common household tools... If the thin enough nail is not available, sewing needle will do the trick - as they are fairly sturdy.
