Genuine new Daytona 126519 appreciation

Rolex released some new models in April this year, they had changed into 4131 movement for Daytona and also updated some dials.

Chinese counter finally had them after a half year, and Clean ordered the follow watches immediately.

126500 Panda dial
126500 Black dial
126503 Two-tone black dial with diamond markers
126519 White gold with gray dial on rubber straps
126518 Yellow gold with gold dial on rubber straps(coming soon!)

The 126519 had arrived first, and Clean was taking it apart right away, I only saved a case for the spoiler photos

Anyways, let’s see what has been changed!



First big update is the movement, I only took a glance of it, the polishing is not as good as 4130 in my honest opinion, guess this is also why they put 4132 for see-through case back models.

Secondly, Rolex added a metal ring on the bezel edge to protect it, and it does look really cool, sadly I don’t have the bezel here.(I will try my best to get a whole watch next time!)

For the dial, I’m not a big fan of this new markers, they’re thinner so it feels sharper?



We really didn’t have much time for this watch, please forgive us. Clean is on these models, we don’t have an estimate time but they will eventually come out, I’m already excited thinking about it!

Agree about the skinny markers, that will take some getting used to. They have an ancestral pedigree but that's a step back IMO.

Very excited, i quite like the sharper markers as they look more precise imo. Havent made my mind about the metal ring on the bezel edge.

Hope clean will rectify the crOwn on the dial (not sure if it is already corrected in the latter 116500 versions)?

I wonder if we’ll see an updated Dandong 4131 or 4132 movement. Not much has changed vs the 4230, so modifications would be minor but non-trivial.

126500 is basically the same as 116509, the end links are different, and some small changes on the case shape.

Thank you @CTime. Man those hour markers are thin. Throw back to the good ol'days I guess. Is it me or the sub dials got thin as well? I speaking about the area where the number and markers are printed.

Why not to think about Swatch X Rolex ? As per my last post (the one just above) it's funny enough to think about that and we already have seen it all, haven't we ?
