Hi Guys!!

I am trying to franken a sub by adding gen Rolex crown and tube.

I was looking for a tutorial mostly how to put a28xx steam in to gen crown.

Did any on of you maybe went across a pictorial somewhere around the web?
Or have any advice how to do it?

Thanks in advance guys!!

You just take pliers to hold the stem and unscrew the existing rep crown with your hand. Then just screw the gen crown into that stem.

I tried that on a random rep crown and steam I found around the desk last night, and I broke it so I have to be doing something incredibly wrong;)

Likely it had loctite. Try heating it with a blow dryer first to loosen the loctite.

+1 on what junbug5150 said. You can also try heating the stem just below the crown with a lighter to loosen and adhesive that might be on the threads. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! Didn't try it yet but getting in it shortly.

So after I hear it up it should be easy to unscrew right? And the again with the rep steam before screwing in to the gen crown?..

Piece of cake! yeah right;(( will let you know how my first attempt will work out;)

Thanks for all kind people!;)

I've read that you can leave it in acetone to break up the loctite too, but I haven't tried so I won't recommend with 100% confidence.

Lol...been known to give a couple away.

Ding Dong! So after failing opening my sub as I don't have proper tools and didn't want to scratch the case. I decided to franken my Daytona by adding gen crystal and the famous crown

Is that the biggest screw I'm pointing that I have to loose about one turn and then pull the steam?
