Reminds me of a very similar thread on the TRF with a v1 BP ND Sub C with the OffCert spacing issue. Nobody spotted it until 3-4 pages in, then everyone cried 'obvious fake'.

Yeah I remember that. That was funny! One of the reasons I stopped helping anyone on gen forums about Rolex. Let them sweat.

Breitling, on the other hand, is a different story.

NICE SUB DUDE

There's like 3-4 guys over there that are experts on fakes, the rest of them, meh.

And the "we don't say what is fake about it because it will help them make better fakes" line is hilarious.

WUS isn't much use anymore. I point to the Breitling area in particular. They are so protective of their advertisers that stuff all useful info is able to be shared.

Nothing good can come out of pointing out replicas and flaws on gen sites :spank:

Not the ones on TRF and WUS who drop thousand bucks and look at blown up pics on computers.

As a Gen owner I had no idea about the world of reps until I stumbled across these forums. Nor did i know that a whole community existed about this stuff. I would not have thought twice about that thread in the past.

I know it's one big jolly to show just how convincing reps are to the gen forums. But I know that from hanging out with this community for the past few months, the purpose is never to defraud others by selling reps as gen.

I tend to not help them with this sort of issue. I tried once and it backfired. They were most ungrateful and kind of pissy about it. So F them

LMAO, you sound like me.:sub4me:

I also got pretty annoyed about the ban on the discussion of "best price." The whole "open market" idea espoused by Adam Smith, which so many people rely on snippets of without any understanding of his material, assumes bilaterial equality of information. Asymmetrical information in a market creates inefficiencies.

I realize that the entire Swiss watch industry relies on inefficiencies of adding emmotional value in a market decision; however, an enthusiast site should not be adding to the inefficiencies by promoting information inefficiencies. It hurts the buyer members; further, in hurts the industry as a whole by allowing the pricing distortions to propagate.
