Hi there fellas,

I like to browse the TRF and found something I thought would be worth sharing.

Check out some "modded" gen Rolies at this LINK...

Just an example, Here is a "destro" vintage sea-dweller... pretty neat!

If you filter out some of the assholes on that fora you can find some very useful info. I use some of the references for my builds. You'll probably need to sign up to view threads. if you do sign up PLEASE DO NOT MENTION REPLICAS. TRF IS A STRICTLY GEN FORA... POST YOUR GENS THERE LEAVE YOUR REPLICAS @ RWI.

DO NOT POST REPLICAS OR MENTION RWI IF YOU VISIT trf....

I'm pretty sure you're not gonna find anything like it. You gotta think, these are custom jobs that require some pretty impressive skills to pull off.

with a no date its pretty easy, just turn the dial... when there is a date complication, thats a whole other story.

i have a love-hate thing for trf. i love reading the vintage forum and the sales forums, some great info and lovely pics there. i absolutely hate the overwhelming volume of pure asshats on there. some of the most stuck up, holier than thou, wanna be, try hard, ass kissers on that site. and the "watch out" section just pisses me off to no end. you will get one or two people who can actually spot a rep who are then followed by 10-20 morons who proclaim it a POS, junk, horrible fake, etc, when they know damn well they can't tell the difference. there are a few good guys on there that actually know their shit, it's the ones who own one or two rolexes and suddenly think they are an expert on every expensive watch ever made. also really can't stand the morons who think every person who asks about a rep is "trying to see if they can fool them and trying to find out what they need to make the fake better".

rant over. lol.

i've seen some nice modded pieces on there, which is a surprise because most on there think rolex is god's gift to humanity and should never ever ever be changed to suit a persons desire.

With an ETA, since the feet are symmetric you can do that. Not so on Rolex movements, you have to cut and reposition them.

And as for the date complication, there's no additional work required to make a destro date watch other than using either a DWO, adjusting the date jumper so it holds the datewheel correctly, or having a new datewheel printed that has the numbers halfway offset. There are no mechanical adjustments that need to be made.

True, I was thinking you'd have to move the entire date complication around... but DWO makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out!!!
