I do. If you're only crusading for TDs, how about you go to that section of the forum and allow people to share their experiences of non-TDs which is what this part of the forum is for?
What a super welcoming forum
Take a look at all the people that join here regularly. This is not what is discussed on someone's first post.

You know what, I did, even though I'm apparently a 'neophyte'. I've also looked at your posts, of which about 70% are negative, bullying or otherwise derivative. This is what is discussed in plenty of posts, and adding a real world experience of dealing with a <gasp> non-TD might be valuable to people like me who are relatively new to the rep world. If dissing people makes you happy, be my guest.

After that utterly unproductive exchange, back to my original point - Eric has been a pleasure to deal with, the watch I have received is a great example of what CF can do these days, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and Geektime based on my experience

As per the social media marketing perspective, you guys did a good job, praising your client with a different tone and almost a storyline. But then again, too much and too frequent make people wonder if this is true or just another scam. For members here, I think they are not likely to follow you even if what your teams say is true. Do you know why? If things got tits up, a non-TD deal won't be protected by RWI.

Erm, what? I really don't care much whether you believe me or not, but I don't have a 'team' or a 'client' (other that in the real world where I actually do have a team, but in healthcare and nothing to do with reps), and I'm more used to people viewing opinions with positive intent, which is what my post was about

For any newbie, neophyte, non-cynical members, my opinion is as a first time buyer with a good experience of a non-TD. YMMV, but I didn't get scammed, ripped off or otherwise robbed in dealing with Geektime and I ended up with a product that exceeded my expectation and was dealt with by a communicative nice guy. That's my experience and what is on my wrist right now is welcome to any scrutiny asked for.

For everyone else, try to prop up any jabs with actual data, not just reverse trolling.

It's entertaining when you think people here have no experience in dealing with non-TDs.

just sharing my experience bro, at my own risk
I must say your testimonial carries more weight than OP's. A glowing non-TD review as a first post is highly sus

but still I can't see the point of using GeekTime when there is ample choice of TD's already here.

Are they TD on any of the two other main forumsites? (just curious)

i see what you mean, and i thought twice about posting my thoughts but i am just sharing my experience.

my post is not a recommendation at all.

i do not recommend buying from a non-td. buy from a non-td and there will be zero help from RWI.

So I've learnt my lesson here to absolutely recommend that people buy from TDs - with the reviews and protection it doesn't make sense not to. Having said that, I made my orders before I 'discovered' this site, from careful reading of reviews from elsewhere, responsiveness to enquiry and provision of QC pics. So while I'd not advocating anyone go off piste with a non-TD, my views on Geektime remain- purely from my own experience, Eric has been a good guy to deal with. Both of my (separate) orders made it from QC approval to my hands in the UK in less than 10 days.

My purchases- a CF Batman and a VSF SeaDweller. The CF is fantastic, and other than needing a bit of regulating, is a quality piece. Pressure testing reveals it's a bit flakey on WR and leaks around the xtal. The VSF is good but definitely not of the same quality as the CF; engraving is rougher, finish on hands an obvious 'tell', pearl lume and dial lume a different shade etc. So pretty good but not fantastic. But it is waterproof, at least to the 5 bar my tester goes to, seals came pre-lubricated (unlike the CF) and the VS3235 is actually a little better than the DD3235 than came in the CF.

A couple of very poor photos from my phone attached in case anyone thinks I'm still making stuff up

Most important thing to remember is that it's a fake Chinese watch costing a minimal amount versus gen. Once you understand that, your points are 100% valid.

Completely agree, although £ for £ (or $ for $ depending on your geography) I think they represent reasonable value. Comparing movements with, say, an NH35A (a gen Japanese one though) which is also a machine produced stamper, the DD or VS are at least as good if not better. The money goes into the case and details though, but it does give pause for thought on whether the additional ~$10k for a gen is really 'good value'.

Having said that, I've paid ~$2k for a boutique marque with a $50 movement inside, so more fool me I guess.

Overall though we're putting trust in a middle man (or woman) to source a watch from a factory where direct access is unusual, so may as well choose someone with a good reputation who is 'known' and trusted by the community - hence the TD status which will be my stomping ground from here on in

As a newbie / inactive lurker looking for my first rep, I follow posts and reviews for information on trustable sellers, be it TD or non-TDs. I've read that CTime (TD) had some issues with payment not received & late replies. 6 weeks for QC pics.

I took note that a couple of other people did have good things to say abt geektime too, one of which was a person with almost 10k worth of posts.

I'm curious... What made the change in your stance? I mean, do you know know something abt geek time that we don't? Or were you pressured by the forum to appreciate a TD?

Would be good to hear back from you, @Aprl200 :)

Ctime is the best and i buy only from her, has top service and if any problems occur( i personally never had problems) you can be 101% confident it will be solved
I used to buy from Geek time but have cutted him for more than a year, it's not the same, like its another person behind and not that guy i used to talk too and had pretty good relationship
When you will receive qc depends of the availability of the specific model and nothing more, could be 1 day or 6 weeks
Bank transfer to china can be complicated sometimes, for example for me it can take up to two weeks for the amount to clear at the dealers account, thats why I personally use paypal, he has it immediately and we are done

Thanks for your reply. It's good to hear the views of others, and not just being talked down to. Appreciate you sharing your experience and the logic behind it! Cheers!
