Haha, thanks guys!

That's nice that you even give me credit for an idea like that. And I'm sure the wife would love plating equipment in the living room.

The stamping on the fold over clasp looks very crisp... almost TOO detailed for a rep, imo...

The watch is 18K gold.
You could sell by weight.
The average price of gold used.
Or if the watch has sentimental value , do a complete modding.
I do not see any other solutions.

Looks like all it needs is a gen bezel insert and it's perfect. Have you taken off the back to look at the movement? I've never seen a full gold rep that looks as good as that does.

This watch I want to say has a gen bracelet and pretty sure that the case is gen as well, the bezel is a different story  to be 100% sure go get the gold tested sometimes when you scrape a gold warped or plated watch it still looks like gold all the way through. Go get the gold tested

I think it's a rep as gen don't come with ss spring bars. Also the gold models the hands are also illumed. But anyways who cares as gold values is always going up. Celebrate man.

Looks gen to me, except for the bezel as you mentioned. But guys all solid gold reps do exist (probably very few in China) and are not cheap. I'm not saying its very smart to buy a solid gold rep but they are there if you know where to look.

Its not to hard to open the caseback, infact its pretty easy, so open that F'er up and lets have a look.

I say wear it as is. If this is a rep, it's a custom job. The dial looks legit, the clasp and the case back as well as the profiles. That crown looks too good also. Wear it well. E

These are good points but some ppl don't take there rolexs to Rolex to get them serviced so a watchmaker could of swaped damaged hands with aftermarket and put a different bezel on and same with the spring bars.

I built many 18K solid gold president replicas in the late 90's and early 2000"s. The bracelets then cost me 1600.00, today 4200. The 18K cases were 800.00 plus the 18K solid gold aftermarket fluted bezel was 125.00 They were to say the least, a very heavy and beautiful watch. My bracelets and cases had no markings on them other than 18K. The people that bought them still wear them today. I did see 1 or 2 18K gold aftermarket yachtmasters with 18K gold aftermarket bracelets, with no markings, but I never built one, and have not seen any since. Perhaps this is one.
