Hi There,

I'm from Australia and I'm new to this forum, looking to purchase my first Rep.

I've reached out to HONTWATCH on stock availability, pricing and payment options.

He has stated a USD 308 price which I am happy with but has also advised its 2424 HKD and would require wise or western union.

USD rate works out cheaper than HKD conversion for me, but I'm unsure how to do this? Could anyone experience advise how I should be paying him?

I've never used any of these services so I'm not familiar with what the process is.

Not sure if I understand what you're asking?
If you are wondering how to use Wise, read this: https://wise.com/help/articles/2977959/how-do-i-send-money-with-wise
Thanks for the response and the Wise link, that's very helpful for me.

My confusion is about how to transfer him money as he stated a USD price and a HKD price, which are not same amount when converting to AUD.

When using Wise to transfer, should I select the amount he should get in USD or HKD?

Thank you.

No problem.
I understand. 308 USD = approximately 2424 HKD (depends on the conversion rates)
I guess he wants you to pay in HKD, but you should ask him to make sure.

Yeh, found it strange, so I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience with HONTWATCH.

Thanks for the advice Jossé, I'll go back to him and ask.

You can try ask him if he accept revolut maybe, if he does you can made a revolut account for free and exchange the money directly on app without paying fee or exchange tax. (I’ve do that to buy my first rep)

Either that or just clarify if he's looking for the dollar amount in Hong Kong dollar, which means your price will vary slightly depending on trans exchange rates. Most likely that is all he's looking for

I think it depends on wich TD you using, on my purchase he told me to convert the amount in € to HKD without asking how much HKD he wanted, just wanted me the amount € to HKD and I think is the correct way. Because we are looking price in €/$ but if they wanted HKD we are not the ones who have to pay for the exchange rate

I just checked again, he does actually, I'll check Revolut out. Thanks for the tip.

I've messaged him yesterday to clarify, waiting for a reply. It's weekend so I'm not expecting a response until sometime in the week. He did also mention to call him as his a bit busy right now and might not be able to get to all messages.

To reinforce what @Rx4Time said- he wants to be sure the price quoted is the net amount to him- he wants you to assume any transfer or exchange fees.

That is standard practice for the TDs in my experience. Wise is great- it is a bit arduous to get set up- but once you do it is a great way to get money to our TD friends.

Just to update on this, I've confirmed with Hontwatch that if using either Revolut or Wise he wants me to transfer in HKD not USD. USD price and transfer was only for the use of other transfer services.

At the moment Wise is looking cheaper than Rovolute to transfer him 2424 HKD from Aus. Will create accounts with both to see if there are any other hidden fees to consider.
