Domi shaves the rubber. Actually, both the case and rubber need to be thinned down to be precise. But it's also possible to just thin the rubber.
How to shave the rubber? Use penknife to cut? Gosh.. I'm having insomnia.

Fine grit sand paper?
yes this would be the most accurate way to accomplish this. might be a bit slow but you could precisely rub the rubber flat on the paper and then check it for fit as you go.
What you need to do:
- thin down the tachy until the part where it gets wider on the bottom is gone, I forgot the dimensions, I've done it before. Thin it down with sandpaper, works great but beware, the tachyring heats up quite a lot
- thin down the rubber ring
- mod the subdials because rep hands won't work directly (if you don't have gen hands)
- shorten the case screws since the case will be thinner
- whiten the date window if you do a white themes

This is not an easy franken to build by yourself...![]()
I hope that helps. I need to move the crown/tube down a bit lower, and I should be all set.
Nope...it's been thinned. The engravings were milled back in after the case was thinned out.
Use walnut-shells to media blast the case to get the texture back.
Large CFM air compressor, sand blasting booth and gun, and a bag of walnut shell grit.
