OK, been trying to work out whats going on here

Just bought a Rep Rolex Explorer II (Black)

and was looking for differences with the gen, and I noticed the difference in the spacing on the 'oyster perpetual date' bit form there official pic on there site., but then realised it was the same spacing as the white version, and the same spacing as many pics of the gen online, but the picture of the Black Explorer on Rolex's site didn't match up, look at were the 'L' finishes before the bottom of the 'X' in Rolex

did Rolex change the spacing recently?

Not so much do you see differences on the new dials now that they are all made in house, but years ago there were at least 3 different dial makers supplying Rolex and the miniscule differences could drive you crazy.

You are so intrigued with the dial print you missed a much, much bigger difference in the two watches. Can you spot it now?

Great piece, but this is 100% not a noob V2.
The Noob V2 does not have these things that this watch instead:
-Very visible white gasket under the glass
-Lec very visible
-AR over blue
-Bezel without inner circle chrome
-Reahut not aligned
-Fat hands hours
-Different bracelet and clasp

and probably glossy dial (noob V2 has matt dial)

This is my ex explorer II V2 dial, you can compare the words in this two version:

And this is my old Noob V1 glossy dial:

Yep, it's definitely not the v2. It is the version like I said in that thread that was released for about 3 days earlier this spring. They must be selling off what stock they have. Still nice watch. but a lot of flaws compared to the v1 and v2.

strange thing is, look at the gen pic of the Rolex from there site, it has a white not black rim around the crystal...lol

anyway, nice watch, Im a gen collector, just don't agree paying full price for Rolex/Tudors so found this scene. happy for daily beater, and very happy with a Black bay I got which is being relumed

my main point of this thread was to question Rolex quality standards, as they seem to have different font spacing on there watches (same model) thats a poor show....

it's only reflection of light, not a black ring on V2 mate, but only polished/chrome like gen. This is example of gen as you can see it has the same inner chrome ring:

also, just to clarify. For some reason ever since the v1 came out people complain about the dial. The gen is not a matte finish. It is actually satin finished. in which they have replicated very well, the v1 may have been a little too glossy, but not actually by much. I had mine next to the gen and there was just the slightest difference. So, it is NOT supposed to be a matte dial.

Yes, It is not "matt", but it is the only word that reminds me of this dial finish (because English is not my primary language), but correctly, in V2 the dial isn't matt. Matt isn't the correct word .... the BP version, for example, is matt.

This version is identical to gen, I live compared with a Gen at jwellery at my country in the day when I received , and honestly I have not noticed any difference in the light... same color dial, but the gen have better print of the words in my opinion.

But I have also had the V1, and was very very very visible glossy

The first is the gen, the second is my old noob V2 (please enlarge the images for higher resolution quality in photobucket)
