Because they are keeping the production very low, which will result in higher prices, so the manufacturing costs are close to irrelevant in this example, because the aspect, that causes this high prices, is the fact that the movement is from RM and therefore extremely hard to get... plus since that watch is skeleton, the price for this movement is also higher, since it "replaces" the dial... so as long as you dont find me a seller who is willing to sell a GEN movement of this watch for under $20.000, dont bother to reply to this message

RMs run on a modified Vaucher seed, I forget which model exactly, but they run $2500 each straight from the manufacturer to the consumer. RM undoubtedly pays less than half of that per unit. You can literally buy 25 of them (they sell in batches of 25 to watch manufacturers) right now for $25k. RMs are expensive because Richard Mille is a marketer and understands how ridiculous prices are literally a selling point with these kind of goods.

But they are still chinese. Knowing the people in my industry (as i work in the watch industry with China), they simply want to make as much money as they can in the fastest time possible. So that results in selling more units at lower cost than simply asking top $$$ p/pcs.

Also if they produce more pcs their production cost will be even lower. These days it is freaking expensive is too make a watch from scratch (if they do the whole watch not just the movt). There are so many mold costs these days.

Its going to be cheaper with less quality and attention in the future but clearly you don't know china that well. If something can be turned into profit with good margins they will do it thats a fact. There are hermes birkin himalayan bag replicas that at retail cost 300k which you can't even get them even if you bring give blowjobs to entire store and bring 300k in cash.
