UPDATE:

The watch continues to freeze randomly but ALWAYS at 32 secs! Check out the pic:

Minute and hour hands have been completely random but the secs hand ALWAYS stop there. When the watch stops, I pulled the crown out to 3rd position (hacking position), pushed it back in and it doesn't start up. My guess is this could be an issue with the subdial gear.

I've decided to send the watch back to Ryan tomorrow for him to have a look. No point having a watch that stops 5-7 times a day. I guess I lost the gamble with the A7750

Have you tried hitting a watch in your palm few times (face down)? I had similar problem with few new reps and I solved most of them with that method. :)

I'm sure I've read somewhere where you said exactly that and it was one of the first few things I tried doing! It did not help unfortunately..

What are people's opinions on sending the watch back to TDs for inspection?

Haha I often say that as I read that somewhere when I was in same situation like you, ready to send the watch back or on a service and it solved my problem immediately. :)
Too bad it didn't work for you though.
As for sending it back, it may be risky as I suppose you are responsible if it get seized in customs and it's a question your problems will be solved. Also you will pay for shipping in one direction so I would suggest you send it for a service to watchsmith and try to ask your TD to share repair costs with you.

I've sent a couple of watches back to Andrew at Trusty with no issues. Turn around is about two months.

My experience with local watchsmiths is if its just a local guy who doesn't deal in luxury watches they'll fix it no problem.

Ah, I initially wanted to go for the seagull but I was worried about getting parts if anything was going to go wrong. And with the 7750, if I ever decided to go swiss I guess it'd be much more possible. So good for you though for having a fine movement, haha.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations, I'll definitely check the ones you mentioned out - especially the Bakeka for 70-75 euros. For now I'll have the movement fixed first!

And the problem with local watchsmith is you have no clue where to look for one who will work on reps. I recently met a guy who's some sort of watch connoisseur, asked him for recommendations and he said he doesn't know anyone who will work on reps. But the guy himself has a thing against reps so I don't know if he just refuses to tell me..

Great pics and review. Imho a great combo for 47mm Subs is the canvas, like Micah, Mustang and Gunny. I found a cheap one on ebay, good choice if you want try it on your watch.

UPDATE:

I got the 389 back after some 3 full months... (I know)

Good news is it's been working well for the past week. No hiccups but I haven't been keeping it on my wrist, too much love for my 372.
And with my one watch policy, I'll be posting it up for sale as soon as I get my paypal account fixed.

Oh, and thank you again to Ryan for such an amazing service!
