First purchase with CTime - 116610LN VSF + 126710 BLNR Clean

I just made my first purchase with CTime, of two Rolex reps: a Submariner and a GMT-II Batman. I have also contracted the waterproof service for both watches.

I also purchased a GMT-II from CTime with waterproofing. I can’t wait for it to arrive. Ordered on 20 June, paid same day, QC Pics on 24 June (slight delay due to a Chinese holiday), CTime confirmed I will receive further QC of the waterproofing in the next few days

After approving the QCs on 13 July, CTime sent the two watches to their workshop for waterproofing. The VSF 116610LN passed with no problem, but the Clean 126710 BLNR v2 did not. They had to change the crystal, and we installed a deep crystal. Now it passes the waterproof test.

On August 4th I received the QCs after the waterproofs and the glass change, and on August 6th the package was shipped, and I received the tracking number.

I would like to highlight two very positive aspects of @CTime: the communication and the quality of the QCs. The communication is practically instantaneous and very decisive, they give you the information you need. The QCs are very very detailed compared to other TDs, very high quality images from all angles and two videos.

I am now looking forward to receiving the two pieces. I will upload pictures when I receive them.

It's an extra service that you can request, for an additional price. But I think it is an advantage that the TD gives you the possibility to waterproof the rep.

No, VSF intact. I think it's an amazing replica, I wouldn't know what to upgrade that would really impact the overall result.

On the Clean 126710 I did change the CF crystal for a deep crystal. It was necessary for it to pass the waterproof test.

Yes, I swim with my reps in the pool, but only after passing the waterproof test at 5 bar. Still, I try not to take them to the beach. Not so much because of the water, but because of the salt, sand and other corrosive agents.

Regarding the winding, the truth is that it produces hardly any sound, both in the Sub and in the GMT. The feeling is quite Gen-like. Although there are people on the forum who are much more expert than me in terms of watch movements.

did you HAVE to do the crystal upgrade? The reason why I'm asking is I sent mine off to get waterproofed and no one every mentioned a deep crystal as a requirement. I dont plan on swimming with mine and in hindsight probably isnt necessary

Well, in my case the Clean 126710 failed the waterproof test. The cause was the CF stock crystal. The solution we saw was to install a new crystal, in this case a deep crystal. And indeed, with the new glass it passed the waterproof test.

That does not mean that the same thing will happen with your rep, even if it is the same model, from the same factory, and from the same batch. Quality control in these factories is poor, and there is variability from one watch to another.

If your watch passes the waterproof test with the stock crystal, then a crystal swap is not necessary.
