Being afraid to post is just silly. There's no reason anyone should feel that way.

Now if a guy comes by and says hey can you help me out with this watch he usually gets alot of answers. But I also have a huge distaste for Luths usual response of nice introduction buddy, I think thats BS, however I do see alot of other guys answering questions and pointing others in the right direction.

Some people really like Luth, sorry but I'm not a fan of the self righteous expert who left our forum for the other forum only to return here with a know it all loud mouth in your face my shit don't stink bad attitude because of his fall out there and I strongly agree with Strodda's opinion as posted.

Now I don't usually jump in with answering noobs questions or anybodys questions really, as most of those questions are of personal taste and theres alot of guys who just want someone else to make up their mind for them, I'm not here for that. But if a guy has a issuse or a serious concern I see alot of help being offered by our members and by myself.

Umm, strodda, can we agree that you take such discussions to PM.
Rude, asshat, going for the leggs....all this puts a dimmer on posting. Noob bashing and dog fights qualify as such.
My point is, we're discussing the air around here. Quit farting!!

Noted, Sorry, I'll cut it out.

But if you wouldnt mind letting Luthier know that if he wants to post in the manner that he does and someone makes a comment to him, to please leave the sexual references towards their wifes to himself. In all honesty, when he acts the way he does, he's asking for it.

When I first joined RWI, some senior members slapped the noobs around pretty good.. It was my love for watches that kept me here. ... And, if you could shake off some of the abrasive responses to noobish questions, there was a lot of knowledge to be gained here. My message to the newer members is to just be yourself, and remember that it is a priveledge for all of us to gather here, share information, build friendships... Don't let one or two members spoil the experience for you!

Thanks :)

I get that minds get hot, especially in a thread like this, but in the end, two wrongs don't make a right.
best we can do now is try to let bad vibes settle...

Strudel, I didn't start it, you did. You opened your stinky mouth first, with idiotic comments about boner, seems, it;s your weak point, right? So, you got what you deserve. You chose a wrong guy to mess with. Keep it in mind.

I sure haven't seen Strodda bash, blast, or flame anyone except you. Think about that.

Also Strodda came on as noob as we all did. But hes gained knowledge, has been respectful to others, has a sense of humor, and he gets it. Big difference between you and him.

It has changed and I'm kind of ashamed that new members are afraid to post.

The good news: It's only a couple of guys that seem to go out of their way to attack and be rude....It's not that hard to make a point without going negative, which is totally unnecessary ... What we don't need is for our less experienced members to take on such behavior because they think it is an acceptable way to gain respect here at the expense of others. Disagreeing with someone is certainly not a cause to rip them to shreds and publicly humiliate them ... in reality, you come off as an asshat .... we were ALL new at some point .. Remember why you joined, and do your best to contribute to the COMMUNITY, and our forum will continue to progress in a positive direction, which really does benefit everyone!:RWI:

HAHA, the wrong guy to mess with huh? I'm so sorry for pissing on the infinite wisdom that is Luth.

What truly started this was just being tired of seeing you run your mouth, putting down everyone that isnt you. It's people like you that this forum and the world in general does not need. Like it's been said, everyone has an opinion... the only problem is that you throw yours around here like it's the word of god and you MUST be aware, nobody wants to hear it.

Typically, "men" such as yourself who have this need to shit on others are doing so in an attempt to compensate for some sort of "little dick" syndrome... whether it be literal or figurative. And that's where my joke towards you, about your little dysfunction came in. You then very quickly took it to another level with a sexual reference regarding my wife. The only thing worse you could have done would be to make a remark about my child.

Also, my post that you quoted, Im sure you saw the mod post above it and I can only assume the same goes for you. This all started because you are an irritating old fart, so do us all a favor and keep it to yourself. And if you would like to elaborate on this statement... "You chose a wrong guy to mess with. Keep it in mind." I would love to hear it. Kinda sounds like a threat, if you ask me. I'm intrigued as to what someone like yourself would do if messed with by someone like me.

If you would rather show me what you would do instead of make pointless threats online... Im sure I can make a stop by West Hollywood and pay you a visit, on my way back to Norcal.

Not everyone is perfect. The sun rises in the morning. Water is wet. Noobs ask silly questions sometimes. We were all there once after wandering the wilds of the rep buying world like babes in the woods, and just wishing there was someone, somewhere who could make some sense of it all. Is it any wonder that once they find this oasis that some just start unloading without doing a little thinking first?

I too have noticed (more so over the past few months) a select few seem to have designated themselves the "noob slappers", going out of their way to rudely attack anything a new member posts that they deem unworthy; a question, a statement, or God forbid, a first post that isn't an introduction. They're like our own version of Statler and Waldorf, but not nearly as funny.

Admittedly, I'm not a member of very many forums, but I've never seen that type of behavior tolerated in the others, probably because most other forums realize that they ignore it at the entire community's peril. Sooner or later you won't have any new members to replace the old ones that leave for various reasons. It's a big internet and there are obviously other places for people to go.

I won't deny some newbies do ask dumb things. I'm not talking about the greedy ones who obviously just want to be spoon-fed where to buy the best 1:1 and then bolt. But when a new member is making an effort to ask what I would consider at least marginally legitimate questions or start a discussion, albeit a naive one, responses like "Kill yourself.", etc. don't help anyone. It makes the poster look bad, it probably makes the new member want to leave, and it's a disappointment for me as a member to read it.

There are better ways to handle these situations than bullying and rude remarks.

"Welcome...

I understand your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that this type of question has already been asked and answered countless times. This forum is a community, not a Q&A service, BUT we are always happy to help new members who are willing to start by helping themselves.

Head into the Flame-Free Zone section of the forum, where you will get some helpful information for those just arrived and like you have similar questions, and go from there. After that, if you have specific questions, ask away. You'll find the members much more receptive."
