Since both the Asian PAM001 and Swiss PAM001 are Unitas manual-winding, is there any noticable difference between the two by watching the hands on the dial (including the hand at 9 o'clock)?

No, not like a Rolex...I have heard every minute detailed defect related to this model and never was that an issue..

No discernible difference.

Main concerns are crown thickness, crown guard shape, recessed hands (short cannon pinion), swan neck, lume, AR,Sapphire glass..to name a few...

I think Davidsen has these pretty much addressed except his movt. doesn't have swan neck..

On the swan neck some don't care..just a visual thing.

But, 99% of public doesn't know so just satisfy yourself.

If it's a 6497 movement, be it Asian or Swiss, it's a hand cranker.

I'm no guru, but I believe the Panerai logo is the only difference.

My suggestion would be 177h if you like Ti casing. PAM89 if you need GMT. PAM196 Daylight if you like Chrono.

EDIT: If you are willing to do mod and explore... Get the 177h. Do a relume on the sandwich dial or you can oxidized the Ti casing.

its really up to you....i got the 177H cuz i liked the raw look of the titanium. u have to decide which one calls ur name. after u pick it u will start lookin at straps...believe me.
