February
15th Feb - Order placed. Payment Sent & Confirmed
25th Feb - Enquiry made for full servicing, payment sent & confirmed. I also enquired about strap sizes, I was told "I will arrange the correct sized straps for you"
28th Feb - QC Pics received. No problem with the delay, this was due to CNY, I fully understand.

March
1st Mar -
- GL given
- I request timegraph results when the service is done. Andrew confirmed this will be done.
- I ask which strap sizes will be arranged. Was ignored on this question.
- Due to being ignored, I request to buy a strap instead

2nd Mar - Payment taken for the strap and confirmed
--
25th Mar - I ask for an update on the order
26th Mar
- I receive a reply, "let me check with my watch smith"
- I receive new QC pics of watch being water pressure tested, including a video timestamped 12th March
and the extra strap, but no timegraph result
27th Mar - I ask for timegraph results. Reply was "ok, will arrange"
30th Mar -
- I ask for estimated date for the timegraph result
- Reply was "let me check with watch smith for the updates"

April
1st April - Created this on-going review

Will remain patient but the back and forth with servicing is causing what I feel, a lot of unnecessary delay. I have been waiting just over 1 month for servicing now, would appreciate an estimated date so I can at least decide if I want to cancel. Everything else seems ready to go. Looking forward to having this finalised and over the line. If the servicing has not yet started, I would prefer to cancel the service and simply pay for the water proofing which was seemingly done.

Hey,

What is the ‘full servicing’ option you were requesting? I hadn’t seen this as an option on my recent order.

Wow! That’s amazing, that could potentially still be an option for mine as I haven’t GL images yet.

Sorry I’m new here, did you find any member reviews on this service? Discussing the value and longevity etc?

Not of the actual service. But I have written my experience of trying to get it serviced in my first post.

Saturday 3rd April - Asked if the watch service has even started yet, expressing desire to cancel the service if it hasn't.
Received a reply from Andrew saying watchsmith is closed over weekend and will chase when the watchsmith is open again.

This seems to be a long process for the servicing option. Where you given a timeframe?

No, never. I have asked for estimated dates in order to manage expectations but haven't received any indication

Tues 6th April - Asked Andrew if he managed to contact his Watchsmith
Weds 7th April - No response as of yet. I am becoming increasingly fustrated at the repeated promises to get back to me but with no update since 26th March. I am not looking for a completed service, I am just expecting an update on my order since I GL'd it on 1st March so then I can make a decision on how to proceed if not at all.

Weds 7th April - Reported my issues in the parent forum. I have now received QC pics of the completed service. I have given GL. Hope to have things shipped soon.

For anyone interested in the service, this is before and after.
While the main motivation for the service was to properly clean and lubricate the movement, you can see there is noticeable improvement from the timegraph.

Good to see the improvement but the time and effort on your part doesn’t seem worth it.

Is it me, or is that watchsmith just a salesman sat at one of those glass display units in the GZ watch market?

That is very calming.

Less calming is that he's working on a paper tissue (because the work surface is so filthy)!!?!

Well, who knows, maybe he's done a sterling job. Maybe we're too PC in the West, brainwashed by pictures of Swiss workshops with pure white, spotless laboratories filled with 20 something men and women that look like fashion students when in actually fact, what your watch needs is a 60 year old Chinese dude, sitting on a stool he's occupied in the watch market for the past 45 years, a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth as he oils and reassembles your movement one handed while simultaneously selling a skeleton tourbillion to a visiting group of Taiwanese businessmen.

You could very well be right! Who are we to question the old masters and their mythical ways...

Kinda like the whole thing where not all scientists have to wear lab coats

Call me cynical ("OK tommy, you're cynical") but I'd never pay for rep "service" from either of the twins or any other rep supplier for that matter.

Just one guy's experiences talking.
