Just about to recive my first ever rep. Vsf submariner. I'm very excited and I am already wondering what my first modifications should be? Are there any relatively easy mods I should do first. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

First of all, if you don't have any horology knowledge and experience, your DIY modding will be limited. Since you don't know how to take the movement out of the case, all you can do is mod the bracelet. If you want to touch anything on your watch like crystal, crown, movement etc, you need a watchmaker.

I would consider replacing the battery. Most factory batteries are below expectations and the lume will last must longer and look more GEN with a fresh battery!
When I need to re read the post at least once to determine if the commentary was banter or genuine advice, I know it’s a quality post.

VSF is known to have done incredibly well with their subs, and high end reps coming out of the factories in 2024 do not need the depth of modding that the bank of experience this forum can give you to give you a timepiece of very good quality.

If you could tell us more about both your skills and your desired outcome - do you want to cover the watch in cubic zirconias, do you want to put a gen dial in it or a gen bezel insert on it - we can aim to give you constructive suggestions.

Thank you for all the replies. It would seem that I've got a bit over excited. I do not have and previous experience working on watches but I pretty much work on anything else cars, motcycles, houses, electricals, build lithium battery's. I will just enjoy the watch and maybe revisit the mods at a later date.

I would definitely like to change the battery for a better one does anyone know what size they take?

There will not be a battery in a VSF sub.

The movement is automatic, powered by the winding of the crown or the movement of the rotor to add tension to the mainspring to drive the watch for you.

Sorry was just replying to the comment about the battery.

Second degree sarcasm used as counter requires a bit of skill and wit…just like modding. 🤗

More seriously, don’t touch a VSF Sub if you don’t know what you are doing. The watch is superb OOTB

If you really want to tinker, buy a JKF 5513. Take it apart, and mod it
Plenty of knowledge to learn here

First not Mod, but deffo worth doing is make sure the case back is screwed up tight. If you then get it wet your chances of the watch being ruined are significantly reduced. Some more in depth tinkering around this area would be to lube up all the O ring seals, further enhancing the waterproofness. Easy to do and very beneficial if they haven't been done in the factory. As others of said, the VSF is spot on in almost every way and throwing expensive Gen parts at it won't change the aesthetic of the watch to anyone other than someone with a magnifying glass.

After looking at a real 126610 and a 14060 today my only mod would be a gen bezel insert on a vsf. The platinum colour of the reps is just that a colour, the gen insert platinum has a glow to it not present in rep and the surface finish is beautiful.
