Congratulations. I just picked up a gen 000. Side-by-side it's incredible how good the reps are. When buying a Panerai, and most watches, always buy the seller first. If you have all of the documentation that match up with the piece and you bought it from a reputable buyer you should be fine. However, there are a lot of fake 111's (and other Psnerai models) on the market that are being sold without documentation. I've seen them on eBay, and even Risti forum.

Beautiful watch. You will enjoy it, of this I am sure. May I offer a suggestion, for my real leather straps I oil them like you do your shoes or boots to protect it from all of the elements, sweat, body oil, cologne etc...As far as insurance, if applicable, my policy had a $5,00 limit so when I bought my wife a ring for our 25th anniversary, we had to get a rider for the ring alone. Congratulations.
May I ask what kind of oil do you use? I never oiled my shoe so I don't know lol. But it is a very good point.

I use "hot Leather" - it's used on baseball gloves, works well and fine on the skin. (I buy mine @ Dicks)
