I wish I had made more research before buying seeing a lot of good things on Hont on this forum. I’ve made a post here to explain my issue, but it weirdly doesn’t show up in the community posts anymore… Basically ordered a watch everything went well initially. QC went OK. Hont very slow to answer but got it eventually shipped.

I've ordered a 114300 GMF Rhodium, 398 + free shipping.

Issue came from delivery where it shows on the tracking delivered but I got nothing in my mailbox… I know Hont is not the shipping company and some would say he’s not responsible for shipping company losing my shipment. But on the other hand, the seller could pick better shipping methods and is also responsible for the buyer getting something in the end. So I’ve explained all of this to him, he told me that he can’t resend if status shows delivered. So I’ve contacted post office telling me that shipping is uninsured and not delivered against signature so they won’t do anything + as the recipient I can’t do anything the seller has to do the work anyways. I showed Hont that reply, he replied “ask shipping company to update to lost” which from what I’ve explained just before is impossible and I think he knows it, and will reply every time the same thing 3 days after i send him a message.

I’ve shown goodwill, offering extra $$ to get this sorted, but with no luck.

I’ve read similar stories on the sub, but only while researching how to solve my issue not before unfortunately, Hont’s service stops whenever he sends the package then it’s up to luck. I know now he won’t do anything, I just want to warn the community not to deal with him, I should have paid the extra $$ to go with someone serious.

Is there a way mods in here could help me out?

Welcome to RWI.
That's quite a first post for a new member, bashing a Trusted Dealer because the delivery service is messing up, as it happens so often. Ordering counterfeit goods from a continent thousands of miles away requires a certain mindset, patience, and not everyone has that. It seems like this hobby might not a good fit for you, unless you are willing to change your ways.

Sorry for being so harsh, but I actually posted the same on r/Reptime. I thought it could be of use to people in here. I'm not posting the link to my post on Reddit, I'm to sure of the TCs here. But someone there suggested that I post here, either to get help or raise awareness.
Delivery service messing up doesn't seem to happen to every TD though from what I read, or when it happens, they try to sort it out, unlike Hont.

I was not a member at the time of purchase, but read articles on that forum. Could a mod act as a mediator as Hont is a TD in here ?

Thanks

Not a good start for a newbie, as others have pointed out, but I refuse to give up on you after just 4 posts. Maybe our experienced veteran members succeeded in knocking some common sense into you. 😆 It's not usually how it goes, but we had newbies suddenly seeing the light after receiving a few explanations and clarifications... So, without further ado:

Hello and a heartfelt official WELCOME to RWI from the team at the reception front desk!

You have found the right place! You are receiving this reply either because you posted in the "New Members Say Hi" subsection or because I spotted one of your first posts on RWI somewhere in the forum. In the latter case, please consider going to the aforementioned section and introduce yourself there.

If you haven't already, please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members section (in all subsections) as they contain lots of information for newbies and most importantly our forum rules which you need to know, and of course ideally to follow, to get the most out of your experience on RWI!

A good starting point is this list of links to the most important resources on RWI:

Also this please study this very important sticky:

If you need further help or have questions that you can't find answers to in the sticky threads, feel free to contact me or my teammate @Feefo!

We're happy to help, but please remember that we're doing this as volunteers for the love of this community and our hobby, and that we have busy lives outside of the forum, so please allow some time for PM responses!

So your local post office made an error. It is delivered and you didn't get the package. Looks like Hont chose the right delivery method. It went thru customs, arrived at your town post office. Unfortunately the mailman delivered it to a wrong address or got stolen by porch pirate.

If I'm a seller, I would stick to the post office delivery status. Have you check out the brig section about a dude scamming TDs with story like yours? I'm not accusing you of doing the exact same thing but that's what TDs are facing regularly.

Hoping that Hont would believe you instead of the postal delivery status is naive. You should go to your local post office and ask them to change delivery status.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've read much more on Hont actually since I had this issue and know how this will end up (I wish I've read it before). I know I'm not going to retrieve either a watch of my money. I would say I get what I paid for (cheapness) but in the end I got nothing, so that's still expensive.

Post office acknowledged I did not get the shipment, he won't do anything as he has to claim it. Terrible experience. I'm giving up and moving on.

Hope this helps anyone willing to order from him.

I've been a Trusty officiando mostly. But if your watch did actually make it over to Europe, maybe the British postal service will not let it be stolen/lost/put in wrong hole at the last hurdle

Imma give Hont a chance now

Thanks 👍🏽

if tracking shows delivered, there's nothing really for hont to do unless he's wants to reimburse you out of his own pocket. TDs would be out of business if they resent every time a buyer claimed their package was "missing".

sucky situation, but it's part of the game.
