Some preliminary pics , full review and comparo to h-fac to follow ;)

And there she is :yay:

When I first got it I panicked a bit because I was shaking it to start working and it wouldn't , but soon it started and I realised why it took a while because the chronic was on , anyway I'm wearing it all day to build up the power reserve and then I'll test out the rattrapante features ;)

2x inaccuracies straight up I noticed where the 7 o'clock pusher is the standard size on the gen it's shorter, I wonder if that can be modified , and the distortion on the crystal is not as gen , even h-maker has a more accurate distortion but now I'm not picking :)

Nice pick up! I am looking forward to see the review and hopefully a video will be posted as well..truly an amazing piece with that complication. Who would ever think that reps will go so far..what is next a minute repeater?

Guys I just put the rattrapante feature through its paces , activated and reset it more than 20x times and no problem :)

The start / stop and reset pushers make that typical 'click' sound , but the rattrapante button is a soft push , at first I thought it didn't work cause the second hand is hard to see if you're looking at it at the wrong angle , but sure enough , works like a champ woo woo !

I've taken a video which I'll attach with the full review ;)

Vsf Pam 213 vs Hf Pam 212 side by side

507B416D-11C1-48D1-8180-23C7A6B57A32_1.jpg

distortion in glass much greater on vsf

Font thickness on dial print much better on vsf

Crown guard very nice on both sitting well against the case, lever also flush at the top of guard

Lever shape more accurate on vsf

Profile shape

The profile of the lugs appear thicker on the Hf - not sure which is more accurate

the crown guard and lever seem a touch wider also

The clasp is fairly nice on both , slightly firmer click on Hf , also font 'panerai' seems better on Hf

Dial accuracy is very close with the Vsf if you ignore the distortion of the crystal

In terms of lume both Hf and vsf are lacking compared to oem

Lucky you! I read somewhere that they won't be making anymore? Is that correct? I read that they made roughly 80 plus, but that there are no further plans for more?

Great review. Do you think it's worth the extra $$$?

Well that's subjective , if the movement proves to be reliable , and polonusTM has put his through its paces and still working fine , then yes !

That's the consensus , but it seems that 80 number is exaggerated , I mean other than polonus , mine , and another guy micha (who still hasn't received his) I don't know where the 80 units went , not a peep from anyone else receiving one.

Also a mystery is what this movement is , I mean it's an Asian 7750 , put doesn't act like one , the smoothness of winding the crown , the solid performance of the rattrapante function , normally you would be walking on eggshells working an a7750

It's a mystery :)

I tried to compare the the movement on both watches from the back , and they look pretty much identical , other than better print on the rotor

Maybe the changes are further down the inner layers of the movement so externally it might look like an A7750 but functionally it is different.

Original modification of Panerai movement to get rattrapante was developed by La Joux-Perret - with visible column wheel and so on.

After reading many reviews and observing the way second rattrapante hand resets / realign with main chrono hand - I am almost sure it is ready-to-use rattrapante module, 99% Swiss made, with column wheel under the dial at 9, at expense of data/day wheels. Probably Dubois-Depraz older solution, bought cheap. I was told these 80 pieces were mostly sold on Asian market with just few pieces left for out TD's.

The movement behaves correctly, split-second is my favourite toy when killing time waiting for something.

Why do I feel giddy with excitement at the purchase of a rep ... same feeling as when I purchased my gens

PolonusTM it sounds like you've thrashed yours ... lol haha that's great!

Ok now the big question  will the Hf shorter pusher fit in this case and will it be able to work ? When I activate the split second button it doesn't need to push very deep for it to work.

Also, will the Hf crystal fit on this case ?

I know you'll never get the movement to look gen but from the front , if anyone asks - "is that gen ?" , "show me how the rattrapante works then" - ok no problem BAM ! Haha :D

Probably the first ever oiled A7750 movement ever delivered via TD...

And yes I still have to get my 213 VSF... but Andrew told me he will get it "soon" (as he told me 5 weeks ago)

This watch is so f***ing sexy!

concerning lugs... I checken Chrono24 and the slimmer VSF lugs seem to be more
accurate. And the CG of the H-Fac 213 ist too bulky I think

owning this rep is a kind of paradox - replication is rarer than genuine :) I am only wondering WHY VSF decided to go with this 213 instead of many other models with closed caseback?
